I was fascinated by the old mainframe game "Hunt the Wumpus" which people played during the 70's as it's a really interesting example of what basic programs looked like at the time.

Soon I'm planning on writing a maze game as a kind of retro tribute to an old Vic 20 game I played as a kid so I knocked this together over a few days just to test out some maze ideas.

Don't expect fancy graphics - your character looks like an @

Don't expect any sound or music - there isn't any.

I have tweaked a few ideas such as being able to exit the maze if you run out of ammo to live to fight another day, and stuff like that. I was going to implement stuff like having a torch to shine ahead of you with a limited battery life but then I kind of thought I was missing the point, so I wrapped it up as it was.

The maze is only 5 * 5 squares but could easily be expanded if you look at the source code.

I've commented out various areas and left my original notes in for those who want to do anything with it, or nab an idea, expand etc. Naturally i'm not claiming any (c) or rubbish like that or I wouldn't be posting it.

Here's the full forum post which includes the finished source code a few entries down...
