GLFW Build Quite Laggy?

Monkey Targets Forums/Desktop/GLFW Build Quite Laggy?

DPbrad(Posted 2012) [#1]
Hey there guys,

I have been playing around with Monkey for the last 2 days, and I have been able to build a little basic test-game I made to Android, Flash & HTML5 with no lag on any of the systems. Even my old Android phone can run quite an intense 200+ rectangles being moved around the screen quite quickly, yet when building to GLFW, the entire thing just lags like crazy and usually crashes within a few seconds. Even just having a simple app where there is a rectangle in the middle of the screen that rotates, that lags really bad when building to GLFW as well.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

Usually drivers are at fault. Especially if you have an older Intel GPU.

Also make sure you are running a release build. I noticed debug is laggy with gles 2.0. Might be the same wih mojo

Yeah, I switched to Release build and it ran a bit better, still not great, but better. I will try it on my other PC later on.

What are your PC specs?

I find that GLFW builds are smoothest/fastest.
