Restricting FPS

Monkey Targets Forums/Android/Restricting FPS

Hi all,

this isn't strictly an android thing and is probably more suited to all phones but anyway...

I am assuming that the higher the FPS the more battery power is used so I am considering sticking to 30fps. Should I think lower, higher, or is this a good idea?

What are your thoughts on this?

Ta :D

Depends on the game. I find30 fps the lowest for action games. For a card game i would go with 20 or 15 fps.

It a single screen "casual" game I guess so I think 30 fps should be ok (especially if you think 30 fps for an action game)

Cheers Mike.

I know Monkey doesn't support it out of the box but at least on OSX you can set the "refresh" rate of the accelerometer. Make it less sensitive, that will reduce battery usage as well.
