Monkey Targets Forums/Android/Emulator slow

Hi, this isn't specifically to do with Monkey, but is the windows emulator for android much slower than it used to be?

I had it running a while back and I do not remember it being so slow?

Just me?

I think it's always been slow, although I did fire it up last night and noticed the speed issues myself.

As long as it runs the code at a reasonable testing level then it's fine, you just need to make sure it doesn't crash and do proper gameplay testing on an actual device I guess.

It is ridiculously slow. Always has been.

You can look into running Android in a VM.. it runs much quicker in a VM, and far more suitable for testing. There are projects around that allow you to set up how you will use the keyboard/mouse to emulate the touch screen and buttons.

Thanks for the responses :)

I'll have to give the VM idea a go, I didn't consider that!

I probably should have tried actually plugging my phone in too and testing it on that.

Glad to hear im not the only one who has noticed it was slow.

I think it got even slower with the latest SDK.
