New Playniax game coming soon...

Monkey Archive Forums/Monkey Projects/New Playniax game coming soon...

Playniax(Posted 2015) [#1]
This game actually started as an example to showcase Ignition X but we got a bit carried away with it so we have decided to release it as a commercial game.

Now it's not really an original game and we need a bit more time to finish the last bits but here are some screenshots to start with.

Made with Monkey X and Ignition X of course!

Because Monkey X is awesome!

Why0Why(Posted 2015) [#2]
Very cool. Will you release source for Ignition owners? I would really like to see a full game example.

Love it!

TeaBoy(Posted 2015) [#4]
Great concept.

can't wait to play

Playniax(Posted 2015) [#5]
Will you release source for Ignition owners?

Yes.

Why0Why(Posted 2015) [#6]
That is great news! I have been devoting more time to Monkey lately and would love to go through it. Any ETA on the code release? And thanks!!!

I think I will be motivated now to finish this one for mobiles:

Nice looking game!

Always try to keep motivated!

Playable demo: http://www.playniax.com/games/typoooh

(because this game is intended to run native for mobile devices, performance may vary over mobile browsers)

Great game Playniax, very addictive, I love games of this type.

I hope it makes you lots of money (if you monetize it) :)

Paul - Taiphoz(Posted 2015) [#11]
lots of fun, I can see this being really good for kids. so many options here for things like math as well as spelling.

Playniax(Posted 2015) [#12]
Thanks guys!

Yeah, we may add math later.

ordigdug(Posted 2015) [#13]
Will it start off slow and increase in speed over time? The explosions get in the way for younger kids who can't quite spell correctly. Overall, really nice.

Playniax(Posted 2015) [#14]
Will it start off slow and increase in speed over time?

First the words will get longer and more difficult and then the speed will increase after a while.

Any ETA on the code release?

I will release the code just after the game is released on the (app) stores.

Now available at Google play!

Just had a play on my Moto G - not a bad little game :)

It looks like you may want to cache the graphics before letting the player play the main game as I had a massive lag when I first hit the correct key.

(Also the keyboard is a bit small for my hands on that device, I'll have to have a play on my Nexus 7).

Fun game... could be made into a typewriting contest ;)

Playniax(Posted 2015) [#18]

I am caching the gfx but there seems to be something wrong with the caching of the explosions so I need to check that out.

Also the keyboard is a bit small for my hands on that device

I will see if I can scale it up a bit for the smaller screens.

Why0Why(Posted 2015) [#19]
Fun little game. Looking forward to seeing the code.

Playniax(Posted 2015) [#20]
Just uploaded 1.1 that should solve the lag problem.

Just uploaded 1.1 that should solve the lag problem.

V1.1 took forever to get to the Australian(?) Google Play server, but it finially did sometime this morning.

I've retested and the lag is gone :)

Playniax(Posted 2015) [#22]
Thanks for testing therevills!

V1.1 took forever to get to the Australian(?) Google Play server

V1.1 took longer to be updated then to get V1.0 approved :(

Found some tiny little bugs myself so will update to V1.2 soon!
Then publish on iOS and others...

I was asked to show how to make the Typoooh virtual keyboard with Ignition X so I added the example to the docs.

There is also an example of how to make that cool laser from Typoooh.

Why0Why(Posted 2015) [#25]
Hey Tony, when will we see the code for this?

Playniax(Posted 2015) [#26]
I will do this somewhere next week...

Playniax(Posted 2015) [#27]
Typoooh complete source code + assets available now! (you need Ignition X to compile it)

A few notes:

- The graphics are in black & white but (still) copyright protected!
- You can use the source code and sound effect any way you want! (even publish your own clone).
- You may however not sell/publish the graphics or sell the source code/assets or claim ownership!!!
- I will add more comments to the source code.
- Source code needs more cleaning up.

You can download the zip file here.

Enjoy!

Why0Why(Posted 2015) [#28]
This is a great asset for Ignition owners. Thanks for doing it!
