So now itīs also time for my new project.

Roccoīs Block Land is a Jump n Run game. It will release next week for Android and iOS.

@slenkar it is very similar to Super Mario. I am not really sure what you mean in detail?

Is there a flash or HTML5 demo version that some of us without Androids can try out :)?

No, at the moment there is no flash version. But I am waiting until the iOS version has been approved, because then it will also be available on kongregate . =)

Sorry that I post again, but If you donīt have an Android-device you can see a little preview video above.

Next week it will be also available on iPad and iPhone.

Have anybody the same problem, that the game not appear in landscape mode?

Was just playing this on the iPad, and it's quite nice! Very super Mario brotherish :). So what did you use to build the tile maps?

I tried some different ways to build the tilemap. Finally, I decided to use the map editor Tiled.

By any chance did you use Diddy in a few places?

Also I noticed that when you lose all your lives you are give more - bug or feature? ;)

No this isnīt a bug. If you are 'gameover' you get 5 lives to restart at stage 1 of your currently world.

No, sorry but I didnīt use diddy. I am working with my own framework , I am working for since last year.

Thank you that you like it =) I am happy that this version works better than the Android version.

Ah, thats explains it, I was on level 2-1 and killed myself over and over :)

No, sorry but I didnīt use diddy.

Thats cool, just thought since you said you used Tiled and Diddy has a reader for that too.

Actually, i did noticed that certain thing didn't make any sound when it should of. There were a few, but the one that i can recall was that each time you picked up a health item, it never played a sound.

Rocco Version 1.3 released...

Rocco had a lot of bugs. It crashed on many devices. So I finished the new update and released it some days ago. ( Android only )

Only on devices with Android 4.2 it will crash, because I build it with an old monkey version. ( will fix this problem )

What have changed?
- maps are now heigher
- improved background system
- improved map rendering ( disable scaling )
- new items
- achievements
- 3 different difficults ( easy, medium , hard )
- and more

I donīt know why, but at the beginning the game lags. I noticed that this happens, if I selected a new menu ( options , achievements ) or see a new enemy coming to the screen.

could that be something to do with the way Android loads resources? That is, the first time it goes to draw something, it loads it in to memory (which will cause a lag)

Would I be right in assuming that all of your graphics are in separate files?

@raz Yeah I use some different images. That could be. But how can I fix this? Draw some images in the background during the game loads?

I haven't tried it myself directly, but yeah, it's worth a try - drawing the images once at the start (even if you then just draw a black rectangle over the whole screen afterwards)
