http://www.mochimedia.com/contest/jul12

Great way to promote monkey.

You can start on it now. Submissions start on july 16 but you have until july 30th to submit it.

first place $150
second place $100
third place $50

everybody that enters the contest gets a free T-shirt.

Interesting, we all were just talking about holding our own little mini touch compo too :). (Speaking especially for myself here) I think a lot of us here should try out these compos for some good experience and monkey exposure.

But wait a minute..is Mochi just Flash only?

Jesse(Posted 2012) [#3]
Yes, its flash only but there is nothing to stop you from adding links of your android, Ios, and/or any other platform you wish with in the game even link to this website or your personal page. It's a great advertising tool IMO.

I know I am getting my free T-shirt at least. ;).

There also has to be a sports theme, to fit with the Olympi^^^^Summer Games.

In a way I don't like that simply because one-touch games and sports are *too* natural a fit, which may reduce the variety.

Hmmm... I see Mochi have thought of that too, they mention it ib their 'How to Enter' page.

I'll have a go if I think of something, though - if only for the T-shirt ;-)

Grey Alien(Posted 2012) [#5]
Hmm very interesting. I really don't have time, but maybe if it's simple...

Jesse(Posted 2012) [#6]
if you look at the entries from last month:

http://www.mochimedia.com/contest/jun12

most were just simple entries.

of course the ones that won were the ones that did the time.

Gerry Quinn(Posted 2012) [#7]
I just wasted an hour on "They took her" ;-)

Got it eventually.

Jesse(Posted 2012) [#8]
it probably took me about that long to pass it.

Jesse(Posted 2012) [#9]
the contest is over now. this was my submission:

http://www.mochimedia.com/games/play/desert-runner

I din't really created if from scratch. it was the old SOB game I did a while ago. I modified it little to fit the rules of the game and to prevent any copyright infringement I replaced some of the graphics. A 3 day project. I don't think its that bad. Is it?

I don't know how it will do but at lest I will get my second free T-shirt. :-)

Here is a link to all of the entries. make your own judgement:

even this one is getting a T-shirt:

LOL.

NoOdle(Posted 2012) [#10]
aww if i'd have seen the part about a free t-shirt.... how often do they have them?

Jesse(Posted 2012) [#11]
There is one more coming starting next week. Submissions will be from the 16th to the 30th of August. I'll post details as soon as they become available. We suspect it is going to be holiday theme but it's just a guess and no one really know.

I am sorry, did my unintelligent topping offend you?

Was that to me? I was making a reference to this:

Had me stumped too until you posted the link. That game is hilarious, I couldn't work out how to make a 1 button RPG!

Sweet, I'll have to enter that. Thanks.

Hey jesse, you've used the same music for desert-runner as we did for our zombie game. An awesome tune from Kevin MacLeod, good choice. What a music star that guy is!

Cheers!

Jesse(Posted 2012) [#17]
Yea, the guy is a genius. And a wonderful person also.
