Pool of testers

Monkey Archive Forums/Monkey Discussion/Pool of testers

I would suggest to found a "pool of testers" to help each other in case of problems with a specific device. If a customer reports special problems on his device, I normaly have only a chance to find the bug, when he is willing to install some test versions. Also the customers often do not have enough knowledge to report a buggy behavior in a useful way.

So... my idea is, perhaps their is a couple of members here, who are willing to test apps for other members.

They could report the devices they have to the forum (f.e. Samsung GT5300 Android 2.3) and their names will be set on a list.

Someone of us, who struggles with bug reports on this device (or OS version) could contact somebody of the list and send him a monkey code or a runable file for testing.

In my case I have troubles with Android 4.2 or Nexus (in combination with Monkey-V66?). But the only change to go ahead, would be to molest my customer...

What do you think?

I can test on SGS2 running ICS 4.04 and Nexus 10 running 4.2.
I am a bit slow though cause of horrible working hours ATM.

Having Explay Informer 701 here with ICS 4.0.3 (or smth) if you want to test stuff on a really hideous android.

I could provide testing on HTC One X (4.2), Nexus 10 (4.2) and Kindle Fire (4.0 I think) here. Also on iPhone 3GS (iOS 5) / 4 (iOS 6).

Hi Jim,
I would immediately need your help. I heard, my app SCORETRAINER has problems on 4.2 systems and after updating to V69 also now on 4.0.

The orignal (old) file is here on GooglePlay:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.midimaster.scoretrainer

For testing now I updated to ant 1.9.0, java 1.7.17, Monkey is V69, Android SDK 17.

Could you please run a short test, if the apps still crashes?

Indeed it crashes on my ICS. I briefly see the intro image with piano and hands but then it closes with an unexpected error. Sorry.

Sorry for the late answer. Tested it on the One X and it crashes. I can see the launch screen at least. I'll try to get an ADB log for it as soon as I can.

EDIT: Got it: http://pastebin.com/8heScx6Y . Zygote something seems to be crashing. Hope this helps ;)

I published a new test version.

Can you please check the end of this thread?
