Linux target?

Monkey Archive Forums/Monkey Discussion/Linux target?

With Valve pushing so much Linux on Steam, I think it would be a very smart move for Monkeycoder to add Linux on the available targets, since indies are much more likely to buy a language that has Linux support than, for example PSVita which requires an expensive devkit.
Just saying, not that PSVita is bad, but I don't understand why the Linux target is being ignored since might be quite a surprise in the next years because of the suicide move of MS/Apple to make a walled appstore (Win8/Mountain Lion)... ;)

I got trans and Monk to work on linux.

mserver needs some attention as it doesnt seem to be programmed with linux in mind
( no ?linux preprocessor commands)

GLFW is something I havent tried, didnt see a tutorial for it either.

Ah didn't know, interesting :)
But I meant that should get "official" support by Mark Sibly himself!

What with Ubuntu Linux coming out at the forefront with Valve maybe its time to release a Ubuntu compatible Linux version of Monkey like BlitzMax?

I got both trans and GLFW to work in Ubuntu. Will post details on how to build it later today (I'm at work now) here: http://www.monkeycoder.co.nz/Community/posts.php?topic=3415
