I saw this the other day and thought it wouldn't really mean much for Monkey -- but I assume it could actually make installation of Visual Studio unnecessary and allow Monkey to provide it in the distribution, or at least download from the IDE. |

I had a go at building it (went fine, after the mammoth VS2015 Preview install), but it keeps referring to missing CPP-specific dependencies on trying to use it to build projects. As far as I can tell, these dependencies come with VS but not with the "open" version, so not sure how it's supposed to work without VS -- the page suggests it should, and that that's the point. (That said, I can't even get MSBuild to work from Monkey with the official version, though I believe it's for different reasons.) |
