Next time Apple fan boys start mouthing off about how great Apple products are and they don't get viruses etc. Then just hit them with this.

I've found the original Palo Alto Network post. But to read the white paper report you have to sign up for an Palo Alto Network account. Which I think is a subscription.

Your only going to get this if you pirate software and Apple has already revoked the developer identities of the apps used to spread it.

It seems that Google itself helps developers with a functionality to spread shit without user interaction.

Revoking the developer identities will not do a lot of good. All they will do is just get new ones. Apple will need to find out how to fix it and by judging on their performance with the shell shock fiasco it could be some time.

I'm still trying to figure out why when I did a clean install of Yosemite that I still had to manually turn on the firewall. You now find the same thing of having to turn on the firewall happening in the desktop version of Linux.

another problem? An occassional issue gets reported and all the windoze fan boys jump on it. Are Macs and Linux completely invincible? Of course not, and anyone who thinks otherwise is deluded. Is windows extra flaky? Not really, just too many strange people that hate on M$ and nothing better to do than create viruses.

EdzUp(Posted 2014) [#11]
The thing is Windows is the most used OS and is more in the forefront so virus writers focus more on that as more people use it the more exposure the virus gets. Probably if windows was on a handful of computers viruses would be pointless.

Amiga workbench had virus problems when it was at its peak these days tbh its not been in the news for years. MS-DOS had viruses but once again still not in the news. We only hear about Windows etc now someone can infect iOS etc now we hear about that why because simply iOS is once again at the forefront and in the public eye
