| I tried it, love the idea but that editor is awful, could not figure out why it was not liking my side bitmaps and promptly gave up. Got me thinking of maybe trying to roll my own. |

| rolling your own can be fun but is a huge time-sink. One thing this editor seems to do nice is actually show you what your thing will look like on a map in real-time. The part that looks like it isn't that great is the actual drawing; kinda a killer. Integrating an autotile maker into some other kinda sprite editor made for tilemap editing (if one exists!) would be a boon. Offsetting a tile is kinda a pain in PS and there should be a special tool for that, like the way this here's a special tool for autotiles. Stencil masks in this program need to demonstrate their usefulness better in the sell page, too; right now it just seems like a bit of a gimmick but I'm unable to try the workflow for myself. I can see how baking in a rounded-rect mask would make certain types of autotile work go faster, though. |
