Looks pretty good actually, shame about those limitations on the Basic version - I guess that applies to 2D rendered images as well as 3D models.

ive seen the restrictions but if you made lets say a 3d tank then rendered it as a top down view to a png file, how would they ever know it was created using 3d coat. You could then use this in a game you created. Is it more to do with the 3d modelling side before they would be bothered.Im not after ripping them off or anything but would they be bothered about a few sprites in a simple game.

Whilst that's true and you could do and get away with it, it doesn't allow it in their T&Cs.... Just saying :)

With all the 3D tools out there, you really need to learn the work flow... and I've tried to in the past and always fail, you could try the demo of 3D coat (which I am now downloading).

I bought 3D-Coat from the beginning, it's a very good product, especially for organic modeling.

I like it for some things, but one thing I found lacking was trying to apply and adjust something simple, like a decal, was difficult. Adobe Photoshop is good at decals. Also i didn't find it quite so great with low-poly modeling, which is a bummer since I'd like to stay in one package.

yes i have tried the new v4 demo and its much better than a previous version i tried which is why im thinking about buying. The thing that really made me think was watching the tutorial below and seeing how easy it was to create complex imagess.

Heh, it always looks easy when I watch, but I can't model for nuts.

looks like z-brush...

Blender can also so "sculpting" - but is more advanced and complex...

but best images and resulst was created with z-brush (by commercial nature)
