Interesting read.

Not sure I'm convinced that local comms apps like EFTPOS are going to drive the market very hard the near term. Such things require buy-in from both sides. Service providers can't ignore customers with incompatible Android phones and those same Android users who don't feel the need to rush out and get a hardware refresh every 6 months seem unlikely to be convinced to buy a new phone for what will be unusual use-cases for a while yet.

Quite illogically pro-apple in many parts IMHO. For example "Integrated HW/SW from Apple will likely retain a performance edge". I have both Apple and Android hardware but consistently certain Android(mainly Samsung & Google) devices have had the performance edge for quite a long time now with no sign of Apple getting even close.
