Pretty much everything under the sun is patented, and then some.

It's impossible to write more than three lines of code and not violate half a dozen patents in the process.

The filing date for that was 2002, linked lists are way older than that. This would not stand a dispute in court for 2 secs.

AmigaOS /System had linked list... and it is from 1985, so how the US Patent office allows this? Bah

This patent seems to be for a specific kind of LL which has several points to other nodes. Looking at the drawings, it doesn't seem to be the usual "normal" LL.

Except it would, because it's not a patent for linked lists (as MikeHart points out).
