I love the 'Pricing' page..

http://www.mandreel.com/?page_id=217

Bit unfortunate that it doesnt show any actual 'pricing' mind! :D

I never tend to follow it up when sites/companies do that, if they havent got the guts to put the prices on their own website, then, I just jog on...

Also, I wouldnt really bother with that stencyl thingy, since you can probably do the same with http://www.playmycode.com/ and not have to download anything, which is much better in respect that if your out and about, you just fire a browser up and away you go.

But then again, with the Stencyl thing you would be able to prototype quicker or even develop a complete game quicker since its a drag and drop system (in the ways of Game Salad before they went quirky with their pricing and other policies). Not that saying that it would have the same game play complexity as you would with writing code for it, but most of these casual games aren't very complex anyways.

Anyways, cool stuff :).

I tried Stencyl and I have to say that it's pretty nicely done. Not just drag and drop, it also offer visual coding and show you the translation of that visual coding into AS3. It also let you work directly in AS3 if you wish to do so.

The only problem though with more of these being created is that more and more people will easily be able to make games. Then there will be more competition when trying to sell your own games.

No. There will be more low quality games of the same type like it is true for shooters nowadays. You can't something like gameplay, good design and AI drag and drop.

Yep, more crap for the masses...

But: Novell is also trying something like Monkey is doing: http://www.zdnet.com/blog/microsoft/novells-mono-for-android-enables-net-app-development-on-android-phones-tablets/9110
