Can Blitzmax be used for free in a research institute? For numerical simulations, or stuff like that. Is it still free if it's used on a company level and not by a single user? |

Yes it is free as in zlib free. I wouldn't call it suitable for lab work or serious numerical simulation, IMHO running on Linux is for knowledgeable users only. However, for simple prototyping it still rocks hard. |

Awesome, thanks :) |

I've been using blitzmax for 'scientific' stuff for years. Modeling financial markets, machine learning, bio-informatics and statistics. It's not perfect for these tasks, but does as well as any general purpose language. A lot of Brucey's mods have overlap with research tasks. However Bmax could definitely benefit from something like Numpy and Matplotlib. |
