YouTube's Restricted Mode, which is basically a restriction of free speech layer, and advertisements appearing on your desktop.

Commercialism has quite literally invaded our work spaces and Internet....
It was fun while it lasted.

Google pulled something like that as well a few days ago, where the Google Home digital assistant had an audio ad for the new 'beauty and the beast' movie.

After getting a ton of user backlash, Google denied that the audio snippet was actually an ad, initially providing this rather strange statement: “This isn't an ad; the beauty in the Assistant is that it invites our partners to be our guest and share their tales.” That appeared to describe... an advertisement. Using Beauty and the Beast references. Later on Thursday, Google sent a follow-up statement with a more thorough explanation:

This wasn’t intended to be an ad. What’s circulating online was a part of our My Day feature, where after providing helpful information about your day, we sometimes call out timely content. We’re continuing to experiment with new ways to surface unique content for users and we could have done better in this case."

And to quote Futurama:

Leela: Didn't you have ads in the 21st century?"

Fry: Well sure, but not in our dreams. Only on TV and radio, and in magazines, and movies, and at ball games... and on buses and milk cartons and t-shirts, and bananas and written on the sky. But not in dreams, no siree.

M$ it's simple;

Paid version : handed over $100 - all ads (tips) off by default
upgraded version : as part of the free windows 10 update - adds on but can turned off (permanently)
free version : (if M$ ever do this) ads cannot be turned off

It's horrible enough to have an infested OS, but this takes this insanity even further. :/
