This looks exactly the same as every other version. Please get a blog somewhere as you do not need to start an entire new thread every time you do an 'updated' version.

andy_mc(Posted 2011) [#4]
I think the tail might be slightly bigger on this version.

Paul "Taiphoz"(Posted 2011) [#5]
He does have a site, its linked in the post, on which there are screen shots of a 2D version of candy world, wonder why I have not seen those linked .. they look way better than the above 3D images.

Amon(Posted 2011) [#6]
Can the Mods get involved, please? He's already been told not to do this yet here he is doing it again.

I know I should ignore his threads but I don't see why he should be the exception to the rule? He's trolling and spamming the Showcase every .1 update of the same game but with another stupid name to make it seem like it's different.

Why0Why(Posted 2011) [#7]
I seriously believe that 10 years from now there will be Candy: XX-The Journey Continues!

Doggie(Posted 2011) [#9]
I'm going to share my opinion cuz I think it's valid and isn't meant to demean anyone elses opinion but...
Regardless of anyones' personal skill or ability it's exciting when you create something you're proud of and want to share and it's a buzz to get feedback for the good or the worse. That being said I also agree that when you have an ongoing project why not just put the link to your webpage or download in your sig? To a third person (such as myself in this instance) comments complaining about the post itself just seem mean spirited and derogatory. Just me having an opinion, nothing personal about anyone intended.

Agree with Doggie, however .....

I have a knack for kicking the arse out of most things, but it really is time to move on (xlyvan). The 'Candy/world of dreams' story/game is getting a wee bit long in the teeth now, labour of love or not, 'tis time to move on!! You are clearly a comited and talented dev, which I admire, but please do something new?!

I'm also inclined to agree with Doggie, I don't find hearing about his updates so bad.

The suggestions for a blog post are probably not a bad idea though.

Kryzon(Posted 2011) [#12]
I envy his perseverance! :)

[...] but it really is time to move on (xlyvan).

I don't have the heart [or lack thereof, depending on your p.o.v.] to tell him he should stop, especially as he's been demonstrating clear interest with this series throughout the years.

I do think it'd be very healthy to take a break: by doing a smaller project you can try a completely different thing than what you're doing now.
Think of it as a vacation.

As soon as you finish it you can get back to your Candy franchise with renewed enthusiasm and more experience in your hands, bringing freshness to the series.

Wow! Things have really progressed!

skn3(Posted 2011) [#14]
I downloaded this game last time after ignoring most of the posts and I just couldn't fathom what the hell was going on.

Xylvan,
do you listen to any feedback?
what kind of download count do you have?
how many users/fans do you have of the game?

Its a good project that you have kept going for years but it might be time to start a new engine, a new game plan and stop stuffing endless amount of micro updates into the same idea?

Steve Elliott(Posted 2011) [#15]

do you listen to any feedback?

No, that's what hacks people off.

Xilvan(Posted 2011) [#16]
Good Idea !

Some of the advices they gave to me was accepted.
altmost 300-5000 downloads per games.
Now, altmost 12-30.

Thanks for reading !

Keep up the good work, Xylvan!

GaryV(Posted 2011) [#18]
Xylvan, I know I have asked this before, but please consider putting all of the models from your games into a model pack and licensing them for others to use in their games. I really like your models and would love to be able to use them to make a game for my granddaughter.

skn3(Posted 2011) [#19]
Hey well that is a respectable download count for your projects! You definitely have some ability with all round programming/graphics... It would be interesting to see what other type of game you could make.

Xilvan(Posted 2011) [#20]
The code of the new game are now
altmost full of declarations.

Comments are the next step for making
my source code more readable.

English version
soon !

I'm presently looking for ideas
like meteorites and
tornadoes.

Hope it gives
hints.

Hi everybody,

Recently, I created a new v1.87 of:
Candy to the Rescue IV:
The Scepter of
Thunders
.

Lately, in this vision of this game, I've added more than 1000 stars in the
sky, fixed the water problems, enhenced the grass, removed some sealives,
fixed clouds. Candy's & Noopy's Models have been enhenced.

Now, the entire game looks shiny and plenty of maybe new improvements
will come after Christmas 2016 & the coming of the year 2017!

Only flowers & trees remain to enhence
in Candy World II: The Golden Bones.
Hoping all the present & past still
enchanting people of all ages.

Friendly,

coffeedotbean(Posted 2016) [#23]
Hi Xilvan - have you considered setting up a https://itch.io/ page for your games? your webpage takes me back to the year 2000 (Jk).

Not played your game so cannot comment on that just yet.

Zethrax(Posted 2016) [#24]
I'd recommend creating a zipped version of your game in addition to the exe version. I downloaded the game, but I'm reluctant to run what I assume is an installer version. Installers tend to leave too much cruft on the system and can be problematic if the uninstaller is poorly configured.

Xilvan(Posted 2017) [#25]
Hi Coffeedotbean & Zethrax,
