Hi everyones,

Recently, I've sent my new version of my new game
Candy to the Rescue III: The Heroic Adventures v1.25.

Click on image to see maximised.

In this new version, I've created new kinds of trees, those trees
takes 2 polygons per leaves and use a masked texture of leaf.
8 crowns of leaves per trees maximum, 7 in average. I've
also managed to make each trees before
the launch of version 0.27.

Hope you'll appreciate that effort of making a whole
new game for all blitz community.

Visit my website for more infos !

Recently, I've added new palm trees. Made from few polygons(altmost 200
per trunk and 30 for the leaves). I gave me the taste to add more
vegetations in the game and use less polygons for the trees.

version 0.45

version 0.50

Pine trees are also found in Candy World 7,
they look a little more realists than
the previous pine trees
I modelisated.

Ferns has been added in the game.
Some adjustments are needed
to get a better look.

This is so stupid.

elcoo(Posted 2011) [#3]
The dog's scary. Honestly, look at its evil flat eyes placed on a head that could as well be used as an interstellar space ship! If that thing would come at me, I swear I'd run for my life! - What about making a horror game? At least that'd be "making a whole new game for all blitz community"

(/face-palm)

Does the dog still walk at 150mph????

Xilvan(Posted 2011) [#5]
Hi everyones,

I want to create a game with new
dangers and difficulties.

Now they walk normally.

Today, I worked on
Lights of Dreams v0.98's
firsts new temples.

GfK(Posted 2011) [#6]
You really need to ditch this 'dog' thing and do something new. Your post history is nothing but "Candy World This, Candy World That, Xilvan Design Logo Something Else", and every time you post a "new" game it looks identical to the last one. I mean absolutely identical. None of this is new. None of it shows improvement and we've seen all of it a million times before. The artwork is terrible but you never take advice on board.

I'm sorry your dog's dead. So is mine, but I don't come here shoving it in everybody's faces every other day and making endless God-awful games about it. Of course you're free to make whatever games you want to, but please stop telling us every time you change insignificant details. It's borderline spamming.

Your sig quote reminds me of something. :P

Come see our new trailers. Is for everyones.

NoOdle(Posted 2011) [#8]
it needs ragdoll's and a large cliff...

Kryzon(Posted 2011) [#9]
I liked those night shots. I think it's this kind of thing you need to explore more - other atmospheres. Make one as a sunset environment.

I also think you need to increase the saturation (i.e: the strength of the colors) for everything, making it look more cartoon and less realistic.
I don't know how the rest of the environment is, but you need to explore different height levels, avoiding huge plain areas at all costs. Whenever a player sees a huge, plain area that he has to travel you just hear that *sigh* of disappointment - I'm using me for reference here.

Nice_But_Dim(Posted 2011) [#10]
Looking good. What grass system you using.

Xilvan(Posted 2011) [#11]
I'm presently using my own grass system.

It veryfies if there are green areas on the terrain
and determine if the color is accepted. After,
is position the mesh sprite right on the
place it supposed to be.

I use the same terrain Random
positionement for
all terrains.

Hope you'll appreciate those
new informations.

Probably the usual, roll it up with a bit of tobacco, then whack a roach in at the end! :D

*Sorry, couldnt resist*

Xylvan, why not just start a dev blog? It would be so much better than just posting a new thread here every-time you add a little something to your game. (see mine for a good example: http://spikeqdev.blogspot.com/ )

Also not to sound like a total ass (a friendly little critique if you will) the graphics are improving but the dog icon on the middle right looks like he's squatting/sitting to take a dump. why not study a picture of an actual dog sitting and use that as a good art reference pic?

I'm just sayin' bro...

keep up the work!

@GfK
lol your video made more sense than my observation :P

Kryzon(Posted 2011) [#19]
Hahaha that was great.

Steve Elliott(Posted 2011) [#20]
lmao @Gfk.

Ross C(Posted 2011) [#21]
Cheers Dave. Could have done without spitting bits of cereal over my keyboard :/

Another vote for giving this guy a blog or worklog!

*(Posted 2011) [#22]
If he wants to create games with dogs in then let him, my only criticism is get an artist on board to do the graphics as some of them look like the early kids cartoons. Or do some serious study of anatomy and animation.

TeaBoy(Posted 2011) [#23]
I think Xylvan should be encouraged, I believe it's rare to stay with a project for so long, so congratulations to Xylvan.

With respect, it's not compulsory to view the threads contents, so why should it annoy anyone?

xlsior(Posted 2011) [#24]
I believe it's rare to stay with a project for so long

Except, he doesn't -- this is like his 14th project that just happend to look the same as all the previous ones, while simultaneously ignoring every piece of advice which he continuously asks for.

Nice_But_Dim(Posted 2011) [#25]
Keep going xylvan you have done more than most.

Paul "Taiphoz"(Posted 2011) [#26]
If he's having fun, enjoying himself then I see no issue with him posting his stuff, that's kinda the point of the forum after all.

AvestheFox(Posted 2011) [#27]
@Yavin
true, but still, a dev blog is always nice. it kinda helps keep a timeline of your progress and people who are curious can stop in to see what you've got done so far.

Xylvan's persistence with this series is a marvel in itself but people seem to get fed up with it. If Xylvan wants to sell his work then he really needs to appease his audience and not just himself.

I'd offer my hand in art for his games, but I have my own projects to tend to. :P

Hi everyones,

Recently, I released the official
1.25 of Candy to the Rescue III.

I've also made an exciting new trailer IV for
this game with many combats
against evil Spaders.

They attack more often, use more magic
like earthquakes and fireballs:
it give more difficulties
to this game.

To stop their magic, an artefact
is hidden in the game.

I hope you'll appreciate my effort
to make new solid games.

In version 1.25, a new hability has been added:
Candy or Noopy may point the cage keys
and the not opened Cages.

Alex,
Xilvan Design
