This is my first game made from BlitzMAX. Although it has been 3 years(!) since the release of the test demo, I'm glad to have the game almost completed!

The game is indeed a remake of a 1991 PC game of the same name. Perhaps anyone here have played it? I've used the original concept of keeping the score above zero and add more levels and obstacles.

Currently, I am looking for SOME players to try the game out during the closed beta. In order to try it out, you can visit the project page and submit a request to participate. (You will need an account at Acoders in order to request.)

Here are a few links:

I never played the original game, but I liked this remake. It is a fun game, and I enjoyed playing it.

Took me awhile to determine I had to let go of the up when jumping and angling sideways but I I got past that. What I don't care for is "avoid the fire" when it's impossible to "avoid the fire"...

Here's a new version of Joe Snow. (Version 0.7 Beta)

Some changes include...
* the power item being more easier to find;
* the backgrounds are a bit darker so it doesn't blend the blocks too much.
* I've made jumping through small openings a bit easier when you are on the ground.

I had to get a Mac! :(

I hope to have a MAC too so I can build the game on that OS. The game was built with BlitzMAX you know ;)

Alright, the game's out! Thank you everyone for your feedback!

Also, I'm trying out a Linux version of "Joe Snow." Hopefully it's working as well as the window's version.
