Hi,

H+Soft Arcade v1.19 now with 30+ little games to play!

As most may or may not know H+Soft Arcade is a little virtual console that plays and manages all of my little game creations. Such as linking to my site for individual game info, updates, and new game downloads, not to mention deleting unwanted games from the arcade and your hard drive.

This will be my final thread for the software and it's games. Rather than creating new topics or threads on updates and new games, everything will go here over time for those who are interested.

H+Soft Arcade runs well on just about any Windows XP, Vista and 7 OS.

The best way to get info and downloads is to start from my home page:
http://www.HsRetroGames.com
or, Just download the new Demo (includes 3 games pre-installed):
http://www.HsRetroGames.com/Install_Arcade.exe

Here are most of it's features to date:
-Plays all 30+ of my current games
-Full joystick/game pad support and settings
-Windowed or Fullscreen game play
-Play 3D mini games with Anaglyph 3D glasses
-Saved high scores for each game with initials
-Game Graphics depth settings
-Personalize the arcade with custom back drops & skins

If you've never tried H+Soft Arcade - you should, you might dig it for what it is!

Enjoy!

Opps sorry! It's not 30 plus games, yet - It's actually only 30...

It's a great project. Maybe there should be more screenies , not only one for every game after a hit on the game description (this way the user has to click a lot, a quick impression, bigger than the thumbs at the bottom, would be good). I also suggest, not to connect to the web (if you do so) without the users explicit action (eg. search for addons). I think this collection would be nice for an embeded Device, or preinstalled on a Netbook or so, maybe you can make a deal.
Good work.

Thanks jfk, I'll definately keep your suggestions in mind. :)

I've been meaning to layout the website a little better - it just takes a lot of time. As for the small thumbs at the bottom - you're refering to my website right? Those are free games I don't really bother with any more that can actually be downloaded individually if users don't want to bother with H+Soft Arcade.

As you probably noticed, there are two installs for the arcade, one with all the games installed and one with none, maybe I should include one game at all times on the small download? Maybe the latest game releases? Nonetheless, it would be better than sticking the user with nothing and forcing them to download right away.

Yes, one or maybe 2 or 3 games should be preinstalled IMO.

Chugs40(Posted 2010) [#6]
Thanks again jfk, I'll change the small download demo soon - probably 1-3 of the latest games at all times. :)

I have modified the original post, Here are the newsest games for the arcade (as of Nov. 26, 2010):

Jack-o's Revenge: The Witch of Egypt

This is a new build stemed from the orginal Jack-o's Revenge game engine - in an Egyptian theme! All new graphics and 5 new worlds to go through! My kids love both Jack-o games - yours might too!

Plus this latest mini game I threw together in about 8 hrs for thanksgiving!
Reject turkey Factory - Throw forks at the reject turkeys before they hit the trash!

I have changed the H+Soft Arcade Only install to the H+Soft Arcade Minimal install - which will always include 3 of the latest or featured games for first time trial users.

http://www.hsretrogames.com/hsarcadedownloader.htm

Thought about adding a zipped version, but as it's a circulating software with always changing downloadable content, a zip would just get to tiresome in the long run - sorry.

jfk EO-11110(Posted 2010) [#8]
No problem, many potential customers/users are unable to extract a zipfile anyway, they need a direct install.

Thanks for all your input jfk.
I kept meaning to make a small demo download ... just needed a push or comment in that direction to motivate me. :)

Wow that's an impressive number of games!

Chugs40(Posted 2010) [#11]
Thanks Grey, Tried any of them on the arcade?

Who was John Galt?(Posted 2010) [#12]
Well done, Chugs. Some of us here shoot for the moon and never actually finish anything. You produce small but good games again and again.

Keep 'em coming!

Chugs40(Posted 2010) [#13]
Thanks John - Got lots of other stuff in the works!

I have recently made drastic improvements to all of my Anaglyph 3D games for the arcade. The original 3D I was doing (as some may have seen) was really red/yellow in color. With these new updates the color quility is much better and now supports other 3D glasses color settings - look at these screenies of Moon Raid 3D below:

All 9 of my current 3D games have been updated with these changes. I'm not going to post screen shots for all of them here - you can see which games have been updated here: http://www.hsretrogames.com/news.htm
If you have been playing any of the 3D games on the arcade, get these new ones - they are much better now!

H+Soft Arcade Version v1.19 is out now. So grab the new demo!
http://www.hsretrogames.com/info_hsarcade.htm

Version 1.19 adds important runtime updates and all games have been updated. For those who may have the registered version get info here: http://www.hsretrogames.com/news18.htm This is kind of a 'heads up' for the active users as all current and future games will require H+Soft Arcade v1.19 to run.

There is a new game included in the demo - Hologram Games Vol 1: BlastaPede 2D/3D!

Play the game with Anagyph 3D glasses and adjust the 3D offset to change how much the game appears out of your screen - like a hologram!

Sounds pretty cool!

Exceptional concept and delivery. The games play just like the classics, and I love the Anaglyph 3D (just so happen to possess a pair of M/G visors).

Thanks for playing - glad you like it!

Our un-suspecting, soon to be D-Man finds a strange remote control. he pushes the button and boom! The remote explodes, transporting him to a weird dimension of time and space! Whats here? Tiled floors, open pits, traps and walls! The D-Man must find the remote pieces and push the button again... Will he return home?
This is the scond game in the 'My Old Stuff' series. These are my old game creations I am re-making from as far back as 22 years ago. Stemming as far back as C-64 Basic and MS-DOS Quick Basic.
