This is video of the Alpha .25 client/server for my Phoenix SS a game based on SubSpace.

Looks good. I like the way the planets are on their individual depth, not just painted to the background. Maybe a Radar Map would be useful, for offscreen enemies.

If you look real close in the upper left hand corner you should be able to make out the radar, which shows the off screen player (bullets as well) as a dot. In this lower resolution video you can't see it. Much detail is lost in video capture. But you should see the radar.

Parallax'ing rocks!! I will be able to have as many layers of Z (depth) as needed.

Yes, I missed them. Just as a suggestion: I would use some kind of greenish, clustered Radar Monitor Display, probably taken from some photos of old Radar Equipment and use it as a texture for a 50% alpha Layer in one corner of the screen or something like that.

I have uploaded a higher resolution video which should bring out some more detail. Still trying figure out all this video encoding stuff out. I may re-encode in HD. :)
