So far, this is my best achievement with Blitz3D.

I put together almost everything I know about Blitz stuff.

This demo is using
- Lightmaps
- Several texture blend modes (up to 8 textures per surface)
- Normal-maps, Specular-maps
- Real time animated textures (with simple textures and cubeMaps)
- FastExtensions (DepthOfField, LightRays, Reflections, Refractions)
- Up to 4 full scene renders in a single pass with acceptable fps
- FastImage
- FastText (just simple on-screen text)
- PhysX wrapper (all the colision and movement is done with PhysX)
- ... and around 3 to 4 months of work ...

Land of Ozis
The concept is based on a 3D sequel of 'World of Goo' :)
It is just an early prototype but let's say the idea
would be using physics to solve objectives and puzzles... (no new concept, but is addictive :)

Anyway, it was lot of fun to develop this demo
and I have no idea if I will keep working on it ...
... but you can test the demo

There's a YouTube video in my channel:

The demo requires the PhysX drivers,
you can get them here if you don't have it already:

Nice job on the graphics so far, thats what I struggle with the most. It doesnt seem to be related to world of goo at all so far but nice job.

on a side not, finding dimonds seems a bit tedious and repetitive or are there more tasks?

The video looks great!

The first screenshot reminded me of spyro. When I actually played it.... it's freakin awesome :) I love green!

Oh nice, a whole new game in preparation entirely in blitz...

I hope it will flourish and give a great game.

Good luck with your game !

I love the graphics and great attention to detail, keep at it.

I see no connection to world of goo so why hype on that? Otherwise this looks frickin great. :)

Heh, this is cute and exciting - like me.

Another example of Blitz3D waving its paw in the air.

I note that if you hold the middle mouse button, it launches him like a rocket.

I love the vegetation and how they interacts with the character.

Great work.

Looks great so far - I like the water fx ... :)

This looks very nice.
I really liked the section where the character used the car to avoid the lava.

Perhaps there could be frozen sections too ?

"and I have no idea if I will keep working on it ... "

Please keep working on it !

Mark

Looks cool but I don't see the link to the game "world of goo"?

Paolo(Posted 2010) [#14]
The "main characters" in 'World of goo' are "2D circles with 2 eyes",
in my game there are "3D circles with 2 eyes"
Also I think the overall "look and feel" is a reminiscence to WoW.

Now, let's say I add several more characters all around the level, and I use some kind of physic-puzzle where you have to move all characters from one place to another and so on ... then it will surely feel like a 3D version of WoW ...

... but anyway, ... many thanks for the comments :)

Paolo.
