Hello!!
I'm happy to announce my game here :)
Is a Commando remake of the Commodore 64 version, with the original graphics and some new, but with all the 8 original arcade levels, I was very disappointed when i saw that the original c64 version had only 3.
The game was made with blitzmax 1.37 with the Grey Alien Framework.

Only for 8 bits fans!!

Ill just echo want I put of GA's site:

Excellent remake Zeb!

I use to love playing Commando in the Arcades and on my Amstrad (which I think looked better than the C64 version ).

Would love to see it with the Arcade's graphics ;) But the retro look is cool :D

This looks great - just like the old one. I'm a big fan of the old Capcom and C64 stuff! I shall definately play this!!!

crazydba(Posted 2010) [#14]
love it, it's great
Feels like when I was 12.
C= 64 was a kick ass hardware, but in Europe it was expensive in 84 depending on the country you where living in (800 , 900 USD).
Too bad I could not afford it ...

Chugs40(Posted 2010) [#15]
Hey, you don't have this in a standard .zip file do you? I don't have software to open rar files. I really want to play this!

I don't have software to open rar files

Just as an FYI: 7-zip is free, and it can read RAR (as well as .ISO, which can come in handy on occasion too)

Chugs40(Posted 2010) [#18]
Thanx for 7-zip link.
Just played this, it is awesome! I still have a commodore 64, and this original game on floppy disk! The sid sound and play is perfect! I have' nt made it far enough yet to see the new stuff you added, after level 3, but I'll keep playing. Do you have any more remakes like this?

Grisu(Posted 2010) [#19]
Awesome.

pappavis(Posted 2010) [#20]
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOW, even the tape loader is there, friggin' awesome!!!

This game has been remde to death, i couldnt stop playing in 1986 on my old breadbox Commodore64.

Xilvan(Posted 2010) [#21]
Very good !

I remember those day where I was playing this game on my Commodore 128...
It was a very good game...

I never finished it with my own but it remain a good C64 title.

slenkar(Posted 2010) [#22]
how did you approach the remake?

did you somehow get hold of the level data and work with that?
