I've made a little time counter that helps you to keep track of your time that you have spent on a job. Thought it might come handy to others too, I made it because i'll need to know how much time exactly and when i have done anything. Made it in BlitzPlus so it's Windows only.

Example of the windows that jobTimer has:

Cool, glad to see someone here has made one.

I was going to make one a while back for work, but ended up finding an existing program called "timeleft".

Maybe you can steal some ideas from them ;)...

I may use this when designing websites...

Thanks Andres, and kudos for using B+

A newer version (1.01) released

DOWNLOAD THE LATES VERSION

Updates:
Version 1.01:
 * Autosave feature to keep better track on jobs
 * Auto start/stop jobs by windows titles that you have open
 * Excluded version number from instance existance checking

Autostarter searches words, that you have entered, from the windows titles you have open.
Autostarter cannot stop job that is manually started.

I might give this a try over the coming week or two. It looks handy.

One immediate annoyance, is that you can't dispell the pop-up system tray menu, by clicking away from it. It forces you have to pick a menu item.

Thanks for sharing.

Andres(Posted 2010) [#6]
Yes, i've noticed it too. The best solution i've found currently is to click on an item that doesnt do anything, but ill try to fix it. Also ill add AFK ability and i should add a list of windows titles somewhere, coz some of the windows dont display it.

Ha I once made a piece of software called JobTracker.

Andres(Posted 2010) [#8]
And what features did it have? Maybe i could use some of them in mine too :)

Grey Alien(Posted 2010) [#9]
It was able to track the tasks of multiple people at once and interfaced with a PSION handheld scanner (for use in factories etc) and make reports etc.

nice little app, thanks for sharing! :)

Arowx(Posted 2010) [#11]
I did a little app like that here:

It's a bit clunky and only works as a kind of timer, no persistance though more graphics than function! ;o)

Your's looks way more functional than mine!

Andres(Posted 2010) [#12]
I'm more into features and functionality, not that much of a graphics person :P jobTimer even has as few GUI elements as possible.
You can always suggest me something that might be usefull for a program like this.

Version 1.02 released!

Download is in the first post.

Updates:
Version 1.02:
 * Optional display of windows titles for autostarter
 * Inactivity (AFK) feature
 * Popup menu didn't close properly
 * New icon and the icon changes if any job is started

Only problem with AFK feature is that it reads only mouse's position, no keystrokes and stuff are read.
