Funny! Well done I like this type of game!

The only - strange ? - thingh is the ball control when you are on air: you can change the direction.

ICECAP(Posted 2008) [#3]
I really like the style of gameplay, its really well done.
Just one thing to add now...

MORE LEVELS!!

:D

JazzieB(Posted 2008) [#4]
Very nice game. Good job.

I do have to agree with Degac's comment though ... you shouldn't be able to control the ball's direction in mid air. It's possible, without realising until it's too late, to move your ball off course ... especially when moving horizontally.

Also, I found myself stuck around the outside of a platform having fallen off a lift. There was no way back into the main game area so all I could do was kill myself!

Other than those minor quirks, great job.

I love this! The controls are awesome, I'd say perfect. All you have to do is use the mouse (and keyboard occasionally). You don't have to worry about jumping or turning or any of that junk. It's awesome.

Jesse(Posted 2008) [#6]
nice game. I really like the look and feel. Controlls are really good.

MGE(Posted 2008) [#7]
Since you already have the ability to control the ball in the air, add a "wings" powerup/option somewhere and then when the ball's in the air give it some wings and allow it to be controlled. Otherwise, in the air it should have no control. ;)

RetroSouls(Posted 2008) [#8]
Thanks to everyone for testing :) Not sure about air control, but i think about it.

Nice game, I like it :)

therevills(Posted 2008) [#10]
I downloaded your demo when you first posted, but totally forgot about it.... just played it... very well done, controls are great - I actually liked it that you could control the ball in mid-air. Not that keen on the music though, it doesn't seem to go with the game...

I got to level 7 and I want to play more!!!

Grey Alien(Posted 2008) [#11]
Yeah this is neat, good fun. The ball shadow is a bit dodgy though, jerky.

This game reminds me a lot of Roads of Fantasy:

http://www.bigfishgames.com/download-games/399/roadsoffantasy/index.html?afcode=afd3eeedd5e4

It has a similar look, hoops to roll through, and revolving spikes too. However, this is more of a race game where you collect coins. Did you ever play it?

RetroSouls(Posted 2008) [#12]
Roads of fantasy it's my game :-) So i play it a lot..
In the begining this one was a Roads Of Fantasy 2 :-)

Demo comming soon

Jerome Squalor(Posted 2008) [#13]
i like it very fun.
my ball got stuck on the ledge of one of the platforms though, i think u need to make the borders go farther out to stop that.
great game though

Paul "Taiphoz"(Posted 2008) [#14]
this is a top class game m8, really simple idea and yet it plays perfectly..

looking forward to seeing the final product.

Aha, that explains a lot. Good luck with it.

WMSteadman(Posted 2008) [#16]
I liked the control in the air too. Doesn't need changing. The only thing I would say should be looked at is

1: the rainbow textures look different on different angled hoops. I would make them all look a bit more consistent.

2: level 4 although absolute genious in design. It had no challenge whatsoever, once you hit the first bounce, it practically finished the level all by itself.

In short - I've never heard of Roads of Fantasy, but Dreamball is brilliant. I would even go so far as to say I found this more playable than mercury meltdown. :)

Excellent Demo!

10 levels flew by!! NEED MORE!!!

Really liked the bouncing level!

And better music this time too!

Moraldi(Posted 2008) [#19]
It is a fantastic "rolling ball" game for a simple reason:
It focuses on player entertainment and is not trying to apply physics laws in an strict way.
Good job.
How many levels will the final release have?

Moraldi(Posted 2008) [#20]
Can you describe please the method you are recording replay?

M2PLAY(Posted 2008) [#21]
Nice game!!! very fun!!
I love the music.

QuickSilva(Posted 2008) [#22]
This is great fun, plays really nicely. Did you use SpriteCandy for the 2D in 3D aspects?

Jason.

RetroSouls(Posted 2008) [#23]
How many levels will the final release have?

I think 80, maybe 100. At this moment over 56 levels ready :)

Did you use SpriteCandy for the 2D in 3D aspects?

No, only single surface stuff by Rob Cummings

Can you describe please the method you are recording replay?

It's easy, something like this one every game update:
;x and z axis speed
WriteFloat out,x_speed#
WriteFloat out,z_speed#
;mouse hit events
WriteInt out,mh_1
WriteInt out,mh_2

:)

very nice game.
When i put it into Full screen, the Dreamball logo
becomes very jerky and the mouse icon in game vibrates
and splits into 2 pointers. The game itself runs smmothly
though.
