I've gone and added more to the Tempest game from a couple years back. (New levels, level sets, built in editor, rotation effect and many more things.) Check it out: http://www.incitti.com/Blitz |

I've added a Classic Arcade Icons level set - available on same page. |

That's looking great. What does Jeff Minter say to it? Isn't the "Tempest" Game concept copyright protected, like Tetris for example? |
| ||
I don't believe Jeff Minter has anything to say about Tempest since it's owned by Atari (if I'm correct). I still need to take a good look at the Tempest source to figure out how it's done. Tempest 2000 was a great game. |

I don't believe Jeff Minter has anything to say about Tempest *nervous twitch* |

Dave Theurer created the original Tempest game back in 1980/81. Yak/Jeff Minter did Tempest 2000 for the Jaguar and Tempest 3000 for the Nuon. I think he'd say it's just a clone - doesn't add much to the game. |

@Gfk: I meant legally. I'm sure Jeff still loves Tempest (hence he did Space Giraffe which is quite a lot like Tempest). |

Nice remake. Very like the original. Thanks for including the source as well. Only took a few minutes to make it work on the mac. |
