Well getting back into the swing of things here, so this is a low poly car that I am building in Blender.

More information on my website!

nice one :)

Ross C(Posted 2008) [#3]
Very efficient poly use there. I like!

puki(Posted 2008) [#4]
Very nice - email it over when its done.

Grey Alien(Posted 2008) [#5]
Good design!

Ross C(Posted 2008) [#6]
puki, that's getting seriously old now...

Ginger Tea(Posted 2008) [#7]
if puki was an audio hoarder instead of 3d we could always tie him to a chair and force him to listen to some of my old demo tapes

that would learn him ))

steve_ancell(Posted 2008) [#8]
Nice model... Now I'm really jealous :D.

Shagwana(Posted 2008) [#9]
Well here it is finished ...

what you all think?!. Other shots located on my website.
Total model is less then 500 polys and 300 verts!

And no puki you can't have it.

z80jim(Posted 2008) [#10]
what're you gonna do with it now? I use blender too :)

Ginger Tea(Posted 2008) [#11]
it kinda looked sexier wire framed
is it the same car just skinned or tweaked too?

perhaps yellow isnt a sports car colour
tiz what i keep telling this guy at work whos got a nice curvy car in piss/vomit yellow
its a sexy car let down bt a duff paint job

its gotten another guy off the hook with his avon nail varnish look purple
you know youre in trouble when his colour scheme (not car) is better

Shagwana(Posted 2008) [#12]
haha, In real life I drive a yellow curvy sports car!. Taste aside, it is a tweaked version of the one above, the middle section was made longer, rear wheel moved back and front one moved a spot forward. A few tweaks to certain verts as well like on the bonnet to ensure the front grill looked ok.

I would like to see it rendered in blitz, good job.

Shagwana(Posted 2008) [#14]
And here is one

Dont mind the shadow and lack of wheels, its work in progress!. Also this is max + minib3d!

Yahfree(Posted 2008) [#15]
Cool, so how do you get a blender model from blender to blitz? i've always never understood that process.

steve_ancell(Posted 2008) [#16]
Looking good Shagwana.

Shagwana(Posted 2008) [#17]
To get a blender model to blitz the best way at the moment is this awesome plug in;

Nice efficient modelling, decent style - but the texture really lets it down.

Shagwana(Posted 2008) [#19]
How should I improve the texture people of blitz?

Blitzplotter(Posted 2008) [#20]
Looking good Shagwana!

Mortiis(Posted 2008) [#21]
1.Copy entity
2.Cubemap the copied entity
3.Make it a child of main entity
4.Add a little shininess to copied one and set it's alpha to 0.5

It will look really great that way.

Shagwana(Posted 2008) [#22]
The reason for the low polygon count is due to the use of the car, its more then likely wont be seen any bigger by players then ...

Theres still a few things I would like to add to the car, but thats more a matter for experimenting then anything else.

The screen shot above is from bmax and minib3d and I am well pleased with the results. For anyone who cares there is a dev blog on my website!

im making a car game but from a 45 degree angle, your car looks great and i wish i could make my own shadow system but im not sure where to start. im using b3d and swift shadows but it is a bit demanding when you apply shadows to more than 3 cars. ive tweeked it just to check the parts of the track that the cars are on but its still abit slow. Im using classic cars for my racing game so everything is a bit more boxy and easy to model low poly. Anyway your project is looking good.
