Anyone tried this weird device?
I have seen them at a store but never actually touched one. I can see a lot of potential for new gameplay.

meh. I have a force feedback joystick, I turned off the force feedback because it annoyed me, made the games harder.

Looks really great until you imagine the queues of people who bought one of these, stood outside doctors surgeries all across the globe, with the same symptoms of RSI.

I used one at GDC last year and a programmer at work got one to dissect. We were supposed to implement some sort of alternate control in our XBLA game, but the thing's VERY NICHE and there isn't even enough support on the PC to warrant the work, let alone the 360.

It was cool, though.

They had a demo where you pushed against a sphere that was made of different materials and you could REALLY feel it. Smooth glass, ice, sand, rough rock, rubber, jello, the whole works.

I also played Half-Life 2 with it and it didn't make a difference until I got in that swamp boat thing, then it was awesome.

Shame it just is too expensive to really become something worth supporting.

chwaga(Posted 2008) [#11]
is it worth buying, even when there's only like 40 games for it?

Trader3564(Posted 2008) [#12]
eww.. someone remove that link in xmlspy's post. >:|

It's too expensive for a toy IMO. I understand the costs of R&D, technology and manufacture, but at $250, you could go out and get a Wii, a stripped-down 360 or many other things that you'll get more use out of in the long run.

I wish it wasn't so much, though... Because it really is cool.

chwaga(Posted 2008) [#14]
