One night while he was asleep and had lost its ball, Snoopy dreamed of the little kitten Crystal...

She told him that some time before Snoopy's birth, a little dog named Candy passed away when she was very old and she has suffered from its sickness... She left in mourn all its masters when she died...

They adopted Snoopy and many cats in order to calm the issue of this tragic lost... -To bring her back, draw a flower circle in your dreams and she will appear as you wish...

Wanting a friend, the friendly little dog, dreamed of a ZigZag Hills... Snoopy Drew a flower circle and Candy appeared in front of him... He was happy and supplied her to shearch its hidden rubber ball...

Most people would call this a minor addition to your last two games, not a completely new one.

When you list
-Grab bones
-Grab pastries
-Grab Hearts
as three separate headline features, it's obvious you're grabbing at straws. Your game is okay, but you're trying to sell the same thing 3 times in a barely disguised form.

Candy was awesome :)

She was a beautiful dog full of life until 2 month before her death... Oh Candy... this game is dedicated to you... I hope you've heard that... That is a fun game full of life as you and should never perish like your soul !

Actually, that's true, try playing dynasty warriors on the PS2, I really can't see any difference between them, apart from the character names that is. Otherwise, I would say the graphics on these games are improving over time.

I'd still say the only issues I have with candy world is the day to night transitions being too quick, and the lack of instruction on what you're meant to do.

Looks good from the images... then again, when your flagship product is Dungeons of Fear I get excited with anything that has graphics ;)

Sharkies are active foes in Marine levels... They attack Candy.... - 4384 tris

I just want enlarging the gaming experience of my players and I'm really exited about getting this game done...

Everyone should try the game... Its a good experience :)

I'm up to ad turtle, falcon, hawk, owl and many more... Theres also a boat... made by a new french blitz member, which is a good modeller !

Any Suggestion ?

I dont give any information about that... but I can say more than 200 people have downloaded the demo on download.com

The new demo will be the 17 levels (full version) of Candy World 1 and will be free... Its a gift !

Candy World 2 is altmost finished 8 worlds remains... I'm up finishing the others dogs and cats of different types... World 0-26 are finished and only worlds from 27-34 remains...

I can do it but i need to learn another language...
I know C, C++, Blitz Basic 3D and Visual Basic but nothing about XNA and C#...

I'd like to make LOD and Candy World in XNA too and i'm sure it will have a better succes than just having it on PC...

I'll present LOD in another subject and i'm sure it will rock...

This is Goldy the Cocker... A dog met in Candy World 2... This is the first model I made of a dog beside Candy and Snoopy...

I've made all the cats fur and disposals... Dogs will bring new exitement to the people who will play the game such like freezby gathering or freezby trowing... 3 other dogs remain to draw and model until the end of March..

Xylvan, shadows won't improve your game. You need to improve the gameplay.

More depth and variety of gameplay is needed. This does not mean more of the same. More levels and more items to collect do not equal enhanced gameplay. You should try to think of new ways to keep the player entertained.

As well as doing this - perhaps even more importantly - you should try to find ways to refine, polish, and improve the existing features of the game.

Considering your age, and the original reason for your game, I think you have done a great job. It is a good tribute to your dog, Candy. It shows a lot of love and heart went into this game. I really like your modeling work.

hi xilvan, i tried all of your games.

i think the better, in terms of quality, is CandyWorld.

But i can't spot the difference with the first (is this "Candy World 2" another game? or is the number 2 for "second post"?)

I like a lot the music.

There's some problems with the camera (after running it changed angle and it was difficult ontinuing the game...)

about gameplay...

1) why monsters wait you are very close to attack?

2) it's very diffucult to die. If a monster hit you energy don't decrease until you get away from the monster... (fix it)

3) what are "brioches" (?) useful to?

4) you can have 1000 levels but if all of them look the same playing go boring...

5) the day-night cycle is too fast (IMHO)

i hope this can be useful to improve your game ;)

Me i think that all of my games are of great quality...

Candy World 2 is more Epic and will grant the player's wish to play the level he wants when he wants... While choosing the level he will be able to choose more than one to achive a single quest... There will be more dogs, ennemies and friends...

The music is made by Badr...

1) I tried everything to improve it but it just dont work... I Should take off the problem soon and bring everyones a top quality way to be betrayed by monsters...

2) Monsters attack Candy when she turns back to them or sometimes they attack everytimes... The game is supposed to be for kids... so i prefer Candy to be undestroyable for them.

3) Brioches or pastries are dog food needed to feed Candy spiritually... When its spirit are high she can go everywhere and then throught a door.

4) Theres some variation as explained before in the climat... at level 7 we switch to winter and then for sprint and we then switch to desert.

5) I'll fix it but i need to know the time...

Yep, the general discussion part of your forum seems to have been spammed with all sorts of bot advertising. There's even paedophile links on there.

The first thing I would do is clean that up as potential customers won't be best pleased with seeing stuff like that on your website. You may even lose your hosting.

There's a mod out there for phpbb that can help prevent spam accounts on your forum. Use it.

As for Candy World; keep at it, keep improving and I'm sure you'll get better responses in future.

If he keeps the same concept for a game and just keeps adding things like enemies, "bones", 3d effects, it is essentially the same thing. He will probably keep getting negative feedback until he starts fresh.

There's a mod out there for phpbb that can help prevent spam accounts on your forum. Use it.
I had to install one of those for my Framework forum due to the same problem. Actually in the end a very helpful forum member sent me some code to use. It was sooo worth it as it's stopped 100% spam bots.

I simply like playing my games because it's all I have... I have not even 800$ a month and will all my debt i only get 100-200$ per month consacred to material of Xilvan Design issue...

I use 3dstudio max 8, plus B3dPipeline for b3d and texporter for texturing...

I'm simply using my mouth to make dog voices and exclamation and also for explosion sounds...

Look I can make whatever I want with a free version BUT I cant sell the models... So it's important to notice that I havent the right to sell the models... But I can sell the game 7.50 to 10.50 for the work I've done on it...

No you must be agree with autodesk to not sale the product...

But at 7.50$ it's not enough for having trouble...
LOD is made with simple mesh that i could have done with Blender or wings which are free... What the gamer pay is the program, the level design and the story... and a bit of Gameplay... So not the models... Cause its illegal with the free version or the 300$ version...

without reading their terms and conditions on 'free' 3dsmax or whatever
if they say it cannot be used for commercial applications that also means if you sell it for 50p

but if they dont know you used it to make the models and then something to export that hid its true origins then no one but you would know you used it
but thats why maya ple has an odd ball format that only it (and maya propper im guessing) support

Indeed. It's never too late to start listening, and with a few changes, I'm sure you could sell some copies. There's plenty of free 3D modelling software out there that is quite usable. Try Wings or MilkShape.

Here's an idea: why don't you list here the improvements and changes that you think people would like to see you make to your games?

We'll tell you if we think you've got the right idea.

It's useful to conduct market research if you wish to maximise the sales of your games. It would help you to create games that contain features that people want to see (or that they are interested in.)

Your games are pretty cheap Xylvan, and people don't buy them. TBH I wouldn't even play your game if you gave me $7.50. I have tried the demo of all your games, and there just very boring.

Why don't you scale everything back a little and make a really good small game? Its better to have 1 really cool level that 24 crap repeating ones.

Have you ever entertained the crazy idea that just maybe you're wrong, and the rest of the known universe is right?

But the only reason they do that is because the original 'softly softly' approach and words of encouragement simply didn't get through to you. Since 2006 many people losed interest in my art cause of your harsh critisism... I even loosed my heart and selfcondidence cause of this...
I made two games anyway and nobody should be harsh with me... When you have nothing in hand ( no games ) you shut your mouth and you try finding some fun in it...

I am quite jealous of your productivity, and ability to 'keep on programming'

Its very frustrating, you seem to put a lot of time and effort into your games, and if you just learn to listen to people, take criticism and learn more about game design (rather than thinking you know everything) then you could be really great.

Listen, why don't you send a demo or video of game play to all the game companies and sales portals out there and see what there comments are? Don't listen to us, go and see for yourself. Game portals don't care about forum domestic squabbles, if they think your game is good and they can make money from it then they will do so.

Lol, and stop blaming GfK for all your problems. Hes probably the most accomplished game developer here, and will give you good advice and help you if you just listen to people.

As others have said, why don't you listen to what people are telling you? If most people who play your games on here, think it is boring and repetitive, then that tells you something.

But clearly you just don't listen :o) Maybe you don't have the programming skills to implement these changes and are too stubborn to admit it.

Your telling guys on here, who have made games, and sold them, that they are jealous. Great games that have had good reviews from pro magazines. Your games, i'm sad to say, aren't fun to play. It's the same thing over and over again.

Why not try and implement some changes that people have suggested? Everyone on here plays games for fun, and have a decent idea of what a fun game is. It's not easy making a game people will enjoy, that's why you ask for feedback, change things, and generally make it better.

For your own sake, please try and take this on board. Without meaning to be harsh, your Blitz Showcase posts are turning into a bit of a joke. Mainly because of the reasons above. As said before, again, if you want to annouce a game, do it on a blog or something. This is a forum, and you'll get peoples true opinions here. You simply can't seem to accept them.

So, swallow your pride, stop pointing the finger at other people, and try again :o) And good luck!
