3D-platformer, runs on 800x600 resolution.

This is just a quick test for EaysBuilder3D, Particle Candy and my own B3D-library PHX.

I've been receiving E-mails that this game gives MAV right in the starting line in some cases. I'm frustrated, because I cannot solve the problem.

Post a comment and system specs, if it doesn't work :)

Worked right outta the box - nice little tester for your app.

Don't work on my system

Pentium 4 2GHz nvidia Ti 4600 128MB 2GHz Ram Windows XP SP2

Thanks

andy_mc(Posted 2007) [#6]
Works fine here.
Can't find the last item on the second level though!!!!

puki(Posted 2007) [#7]
This looks exciting.

stayne(Posted 2007) [#8]
I can see some graphics for a split second when I launch it but I get a MAV a few seconds after the bells start jingling.

6(Posted 2007) [#9]
Works fine on my laptop

Acer Aspire 3100 | 512MB | ATI Radeon Xpress 1100

Nice demo btw

jayparker(Posted 2007) [#10]
@Destroyer: Do you have build-in gfx card?

@stayne: Your system specs?

Nice_But_Dim(Posted 2007) [#11]
I have the same problem as stayne.

win 64 | 512mb | nvidia 6200 256mb

Destroyer(Posted 2007) [#12]
@Jay

Nah its a seperate gfx card

I get the same as Stayne split second view of the title screen little bit of music then it hangs

Thanks

Geehawk(Posted 2007) [#13]
I get the same MAV situation :-(

Destroyer(Posted 2007) [#14]
Ok i got it :)

If you are having MAV problems set your desktop to 16bit.

It don't seem to work in 32bit mode.

Hope this helps :)

edit: just played it, Excelent stuff Jay.
One point: If you jump at a wall and press jump again when you collide with it you can jump higher(no need to use the platforms)not sure if this is the way the game ment to work.

Thanks

andy_mc(Posted 2007) [#15]
My desktop's set to 32bit and it works fine. If this is normal Blitz3D then that shouldn't matter.

Destroyer(Posted 2007) [#16]
@Andy

Very true Andy it shouldn't matter. Maybe its my system.
Its over 5 years old :(

Thanks

jayparker(Posted 2007) [#17]
Code is pure Blitz3D, so that's I'm wondering what's wrong :)

And now a little test, those who get MAV, please try this:

http://www.puzzlehousefin.com/xtra/XS.zip

When you have tested, let me know :)

Destroyer(Posted 2007) [#18]
@Jay

It works on my system now in 16bit/32bit :)

Keep up the good work Jay

Thanks

Geehawk(Posted 2007) [#19]
That works for me.

As said above just holding down jump and direction keys allows you to leap from one side of the area to the other nearly, by 'climbing' up walls, trees etc.

jayparker(Posted 2007) [#20]
@Geehawk
Yep.. that's true :)

jayparker(Posted 2007) [#21]
So my conclusion is that OpenMovie()-DrawMovie() won't work
on every machine(?) :)
Is there any known issues about this thing in B3D?

andy_mc(Posted 2007) [#22]
I found the wall running bug really useful, is this meant to be a feature?

Nice little game, Can't wait for the directx10 massively multiplayer sequel for next year! ;-P

amonite(Posted 2007) [#23]
Runs fine and was fun to play.

jayparker(Posted 2007) [#24]
@andy_mc
The bug"is useful, but wasn't meant to be :) Noticed it too late in development and now I have other projects,
so this bug stays in the game :)
And yes, for next Christmas I have something in my mind...
