The links were broken. I do like the idea of somebody making their own CAD program.

I couldn't download but as a hobbyist draftsman I would advise your program have these features.

1. Boolean addition and subtraction as well as intersection. This means that you can subtract one shape from another or add them to get a new shape. Also you should be able to get a new shape formed from the intersection of two shapes. These rules are for 2d but can also work on 3D shapes. The programming is hell I've heard.

2. Snap modes for shapes. Can you use the points from one shape as guides for drawing the points of new shapes?

Usual snap modes include the following

1. Snap to grid
2. Snap to intersection (intersection of two lines)
3. Snap to end point
4. Snap to center (for circles)
5. snap to quadrant (4 per circle)
6. snap to midpoint
7. snap to tangent (between two circles)
there are many more I'm just listing some off the top of my head.

Good luck with this. I want those links workable so we can try your progress. ;)
