After playing countless hours of the Ace Combat games, I had a great idea. I loved the way your flight was documented in those missions and wanted to take some of that simplicity and make a game out of it. I also liked the idea of making an arena shmup. Also after playing some racing games, I found that I had begun to regard the computer controlled players as opponents and not just computer controlled AI. These opponents fought not only you but also each other. Really I want to encorperate the theme of the computer fighting itself and you into a game.I wanted to let the player steal points from computer players and conversly, let the computer steal from the player. This is done in the way to Sonic looses his rings when hit. When hit opponents will loose "glyphs". These glyphs will be free for any player to pick up once dropped or spawned.

Driving themes of this project:
1. Individuality for the player and opponents
2. Stealing and Backstabbing during gameplay
3. Fast pace with skill and reflex involved.

I assume this is based on the computer game called "Brawl" That was a really fun game and having glyphs sounds like a good idea.

OH. No, actually I never have heard/played that game. A title change might be in order.

I really wish I could do this game in full 3D. Cones for the ships,cubes for the glyphs, tubes for the trails.

Maybe when I sit down to lean miniB3D. :)

Now, you fight up to 20 opponents at once and they are all intelligent and have matched skills. You need to collect the green glyphs and shoot down as many enemy craft as possible. When shot, a player looses all glyphs so don't hesitate to kill an enemy with a high glyph count.

Enemy Kill-100pts
Glyph pickup-15 pts


Z or space fires, arrow left/right change cruzing angle and up/down change speed for tight or loose turns.

If you die press R to restart. This needs a title screen and player stats screen but the gameplay is mostly intact. If you have time in your schedult please try it and tell me what you think good and bad.

If you have any ideas for scoring or level progression don't make yourself a stranger!

Nice game. Make your bullets go a lot faster when you are moving fast. Add more kinds of weapons.

Could anyone here tell me a good way to display opponent info? Pasting numbers over them looks tacky. I guess I need to present info without the info taking away from the player image. :(

Could you change the colour or brightness of the opponent or it's trail?

Pretty cool.... But I thought it was a little easy.
Also, I don't like the way you have to repeatedly tap the Z key to fire.

Sorry Terry, I just finished a new verison just after you said that. I've improved the graphics and style quite a bit. I'm looking to see if anyone can find errors in the AI system. If you find any ways to exploit the AI or cheat please tell me. I'll make autofire an option I promise, I've just gotten used to playing those tappy arcade games.

Ok this is now complete. It just lacks music., I do plan to add some but I don't have any at the moment.

I always distribute my games for free so you are my ownly source of feedback. I enjoy reading peoples thoughts and scores.
