Hello, You can find my Blitz remake of Ocean's Hunchback here: http://www.retroremakes.com/forum2/showthread.php?t=8517 |
| ||
Heh, that brings back memories. ;) |
| ||
The first game I played on C64 |
| ||
Nice. Though I couldn't get past the second level. Please convert all bmp to png. Also I would create a single exe file (with all media) for easier distribution. |
| ||
I remember this. Not seen it for years. |
| ||
Thanks for comments, this is my first game and I would definitely like to shrink GFX size etc. However, I had trouble with other graphic formats so stuck with bmp's. Also, how do you put everything into a single file? Any help much appreciated. |
| ||
There are some packers here: http://www.blitzbasic.com/toolbox/toolbox.php?cat=10 |

Use Blitz Media Linker - it's great. ;) |
| ||
cool, I remember this on the BBC micro. Will try out later. Screenshot in this thread too might be nice :-) |

Good game, good graphics, good SFX, but can't get past the second level coz Hunchy won't grab the swing rope. [edit] Extremely good game, now that I have figured out how to get past the second level. The Roman that tries to catch Hunchy, reminds me of Sid James from the Carry On Films.[/edit] |
| ||
had a play nice. quite hard, the rope is bitchin' pixel perfect stuff. |
| ||
Excellent freeware remake of a classic original. I look forward to what you come up with in future mate, you are cooking with gas. |
| ||
got to around level 10, very nice. |
| ||
Have converted Gfx to PNG's & Sfx to MP3's, shrinking file from 3.79 Mb to 1.99 Mb! (zipped) |

Hunchback used to be one of my favourite games. Your remake is really nice! Good graphics and good old traditional gameplay. I was going to do a remake of HB some time back. In fact, heres some bendy rope code you might want to play with .. Play around with the parameter settings (line 57) to affect the ropes attributes. |
| ||
Somebody mentioned putting a screenshot in this thread, a great idea however, I have no idea how you do this! Could somebody give me a few tips! (Cheers) P.S. thanks to Jim Brown for rope code. |

You need somewhere to host the image, I guess you have your own webspace? Then simply type/paste the url into your post and it should appear. |

Thanks Matty, Screenshot now added! |
