Game Audio?

Are there any developers out there who are interested in custom game audio for their applications?

For samples, check out www.nwsstudios.com and take a look at the composition section.

I'd like feedback on this one. If there were packages made available, would you buy them? Are there certain styles that you would be interested in hearing?

Any information that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again!

Great classical stuff, really nice strings. I'd say the other music may be too full-on for many games, good as it is. Maybe you need some more suitable sounding music for games? But hey, I'm just one opinion.

I'd like to listen, please make you page allow to skip the flash part or offer a html alternative navigation, I have deleted my flash plugin some weeks ago.

link to his site passed the flash intro, but the audio plays through an inbuilt flash player.

thanks. Well then I still cannot listen :/ BTW flash will not save you from people ripping the files since the mp3s are usually stored in the cache folders.

Grey Alien,
Most that work is showcase material for film and television, not suitable for most games.

The synth material was contract work for a couple of different companies, and the tracks were both used for game menus. Too full on for gameplay, but ok for title and menu screens...

jfk,
sorry about the troubles bro, i'll get things fixed right away. the flash player is for orginizational purposes, not for security. ;) Anyhow, I'll get some links in here soon. I appreciate your interest, and it is good to know that flash can pose a problem for some users.

Thanks,
-Matt

Thanks a lot. You know what? I just realized, I got lots of network diagnose tools on this small linux distro (that I am using as a web terminal), but not a single media player yet! I guess I even have no audio support at all right now. Well I have downloaded the songs and will listen later. Got dual boot, so it's not a problem. Sorry for the troubles.

Finally I have found some time to listen to your music.

Great work, here are some suggestions.

ConflictOmegaOverture.mp3 has a good potential for an intro. The syntetic sound, especially of the strings should be avoided if possible. Maybe you can replace the soundbanks, or add some fx that makes the synthesis less obvious.

StudioComp.mp3 are two snippets of studio recodrings, as far as I see. The female singer of the first part is AAA. Reminds me a lot of shinead o connor. The seconds part, speed/death metal isn't exactly what I prefer, tho sounds well done.

TheAftermath.mp3 is extremaly sad and slow. Not sure if I could live with it for a longer time :) For games design it may be useful in a Game-Over cutscene, or something like that. The synthesis is less disturbing than in Conflict Omega.

WelcomeHome.mp3. Again the synth strings "bite" kind of. It is also pretty sad, kind of "tried, failed, who cares" theme.

It is of course a great classical composition. Strong emotion that reminds of composers like Wagner or Brahms. (Although your themes lack of some certain kind of harmonic originality, but this doesn't have to be a problem)

There's a lot of potential. I'd suggest get better strings. For games you should try to use emotions that fit the gameplay: tension, fear, horror, honor, speed, epic etc.

Well that's just my 2 cents.

Hey there,

What apps do you use for your sound?
Is it hardware or software - does it come from recording an electric piano or do you use software such as Reason or FruityLoops?
