I've uploaded an old-school demo that I originally made about 6 months ago, except that this time it moves through the screens automatically and shows a statistics page for benchmarking purposes at the end.

What stats do you get? The overall stat is the "Page Average" which is 10ms on my P4 3.2GHz Radeon 9800XT and 13ms on my rubbish P4 2.4 SIS graphics laptop. You can take a screenshot with F12 if you wish. Enjoy!

I tried to run it on my ol thinkpad, but it says "failed to set display mode". Max is 800*600*16.

Those where the times. It feels just like I can hear the floppy of my booting Atari ST...

jfk: Shame ... it runs in 800x600x32. I could add a 16 bit mode easily, I'll have to see if I have the time. Thanks for trying it.

LOL @ Old Fogies Reminiscing. I got 15ms on AthlonXP 3200 and Geforce 6600GT.

Leiden: thanks. Did you like the demo, I guess from your comment that you are too young to get the "old-school" vibe? Considering the speed of your CPU, 15ms isn't too great, it could be the video card isn't so good at "basic" operations. I have found that many 3D cards may be great for 3D but are slow/normal at basic operations.

Running a Dell Inspiron 5150, 3.02 ghz, 32MB ATI mobility, 1 gig DDR.

BTW, love the the old school stuff....even though it was a bit before my time...
