boomboommax(Posted 2005) [#1]
lo, we all have tons of idea projects/unfinished why not post screenies?!

i will start with a few...

lil iso thing i was playing with in max

a topdown shooter i tested out some shadow bits with when i first got max.

another td shooter.

bombersheep.

vectorish max thing.

defence. (stopped only because blitz3d started going insane for a reason that was never found)

lots more...

BlitzSupport(Posted 2005) [#2]
I like that vectorish Max thing!

ImaginaryHuman(Posted 2005) [#3]
Well..

This fully realtime multiple inversed blobby-objects...

never quite turned into anything other than a nice realtime effect and the basis of some tutorials. ahhhhh the dreams.

I've designed quite a few other things but never got into making them a reality so they don't have screenshots.

I have been designing a scorched tanks/earth type game engine for a while but I am dubious about doing all the programming needed. I know how it will all work but the coding seems so mind-numbing. I might even get sidetracked and create a website or something.

A platformer kung fu beat-em up on hold as the developement time was spiraling out of control.

Download a demo here:

Now I'm working on a couple of quicker projects. Managed to complete tetroid though: http://www.jbcomputersolutions.com/tetroid.shtml an above average tetris clone (blow own trumpet)

Who was John Galt?(Posted 2005) [#5]
@cyanide - stop chin wagging and finish 'another td shooter' - I like the look of it.

Liberator(Posted 2005) [#6]
Cyanide, that Defense one looks far too cool for words! Don't let a silly bug burn you out on it, finish the damned thing then give it to me so I can play it! sheesh. ;)

TartanTangerine (was Indiepath)(Posted 2005) [#7]
Oooo, will you share the code for the vectorish thingie... Please..

Anatoly(Posted 2005) [#8]
Hmmm. I've just started in Blitz3D, but here

Adventure game engine...
Scraped it to begin working in full 3D...

boomboommax(Posted 2005) [#9]
er for the Vectorish thing, the effect im guessing your wondering about as the shapes are basic vector math stuff...

anyhoe, todo the pixel effect just copy the screen to a texture (that has no filtering) and overlay it on the screen on a quad, change the texture rez around to find a look you like

(using max with gl)

SillyPutty(Posted 2005) [#10]
cyanide , how did you do those shadows in max ? That looks wickid !

Mind helping out with that ?

Grey Alien(Posted 2005) [#11]
Anatoly : Your pic reminds me of Ultima IX

TartanTangerine (was Indiepath)(Posted 2005) [#12]
@Cyanide, yeah I know the vector stuff, it's the pixel effect that looks kinda cool.

tonyg(Posted 2005) [#13]
I'd be interested in the shadow technique as well.

SillyPutty(Posted 2005) [#14]
tonyg, cyanide has just shown us how :)

Solar Shatter, Coded in Blitz 3D, put on hold to develope the control system, in doing so I created Roidz(name to be changed ;) ) and Solar Shatter was put on hold pending a rewrite in Blitz Max, pending the 3D mod of course.

This game is a space combat and strategy game, based around the nine planets, each planet being a game zone and having around 5 missions each, your objective is to clear each area of all alien's and complete a few mission objectives, like escourting tankers, or search and destroy etc...

Regular K(Posted 2005) [#17]
Errr, I dont think I can find a host willing to put up pictures of all my unfinished projects =/
But you guys got some pretty cool unfinished projects, Im sure someone out there would be willing to continue ?

Hotcakes(Posted 2005) [#18]
My unfinished project was originally started in AmiBlitz, then rewritten for 2 players, then rewritten for BlitzPC, then rewritten for BlitzPlus, now it's awaiting a rewrite for Max pending a decent IDE and pending BVM2... it was also pending a net module, but it seems there's a couple of good ones out there now =]

Paul "Taiphoz"(Posted 2005) [#19]
Pirate Gems.

This is a game like Beeweled thingi, that can be played on MSN, or other MS gaming networks.

I have taken it on a Pirate type of twist and its about 99.99% complete, only a few lines of code to go and it will have a release, IF I can work out one small little nagging bit of code thats bothering me.

coffeedotbean(Posted 2005) [#20]
An alien breed game i started, was close to finished but i got board, the gfx where later use din the commnit Alienbreed project which also died. heres the demo: http://www.handson.creators.co.uk/Tab4.zip

Xip(Posted 2005) [#21]
i started of this Liero clone a while back in b2d, never got to finnished it :(

had some very cool gore effekts that spatterd on wals and driped down...hmmm, maby start the projekt again some time in the future ;)

here is a very nice looking worms game, me and 2 friends started to write in bmax a while back, the realtime shadings created a very nice clay-feeling when shoting through the mud :)
Also note the textures made by our own scaned clothes :P

here is a nother old game written in b2d, one of the more first "complite" games, a jippi-style minigolf game:

Here is a art consept for a very big game i was working on in b2d, an massive online community type of game, This projekt is somthing i have wanted to rewrite i bmax for a very long while... maby when i get some more time :)

here is some artwork i did for a iso-style mario game consept, but that was all i did, never got to start on the engine:

hmm... ther are toons of other stuff... but im saving some space for you other boys ;)

Dock(Posted 2005) [#22]

My puzzle game has been in limbo for most of this year due to having too much work (I work in games, and I make comics on the side). I'd really like to work more on this and get it completed.

boomboommax(Posted 2005) [#23]
nice... frogsuit

BlitzSupport(Posted 2005) [#24]
Whoa, Dock, that looks really nice.

Red Ocktober(Posted 2005) [#25]
i think all of them look really nice...

cyanides and coffees stuff is stark and atmospheric... looks great... the planet thing by defence looks like the beginnings of something neat...

i really like the look of anatolys 3D room up there... and that Pirates Gems screeny caught the attention of my wife, and she hates computer stuff...

all of the stuff looks good... even that cutsey lil kid in the frog suit above... and i hate those cutesy lil games...

but, really... you guys have a potential goldmine here...
maybe i should give up trying to make games, and start up a publishing company to exploit all of your talents...

I have to agree with you red.

There was one in the past called Binary-People, and although some of its clients didnt have a good time, the majority of us did, it was a sad loss, I cant wait till some one else takes up the ball cos when they do I will have some stuff for them.

Marketing and setting up sales is an aspect of the industry that I dont like much at all.

big10p(Posted 2005) [#27]
I like froggy girl.
