Yehhh!!!!

This looks good, I'll download this and play with all night.

The bottom screenie looks 3D to me

EDIT:
Ineed it is, my 3D glasses demonstrate this.

puki(Posted 2005) [#3]
Bloody-hell!!!

The 3D effect is really good when in motion - glad I got 3 sets of glasses.

I've not played with anything else - going back in.

Dive, dive, dive.

Edit:

The 3D mode is chuffing amazing - once your eyes lock in, it's like a chuffing hologram effect - but there is no red/cyan residue - it just looks totally gorgeous - it's like something out of Star Wars.

VIP3R(Posted 2005) [#4]
Could you please provide a zip version too perseus?

Those screenies look awesome!!!

gosse(Posted 2005) [#5]
Prettty impressive!!

perseus(Posted 2005) [#6]

and zip version

Oddball(Posted 2005) [#7]
This looks very impressive. Just one question though. Does the walker actually walk?

Foppy(Posted 2005) [#8]
Beautiful! And also a very stylish demo with the music and background sounds.

Braincell(Posted 2005) [#9]
This was made in... Blitz3D ?
I wish i had the 3d glasses right now. Good idea using that trick.

Gabriel(Posted 2005) [#10]
Best Blitz demo ever.

Nothing else to say.

perseus(Posted 2005) [#11]
Thanks

Walker isn't walking in the moment but it will be soon :)

I did the programming in Blitz3D.

In Some places the performans goes down especially on 3d Glasses.. I was aiming the Higher Resolution but the performans :(

Braincell(Posted 2005) [#12]
Best Blitz demo ever.

No way. Best application of very good graphics , maybe. Depends what you term as 'demo'.

Brilliant model, great use of what blitz has to offer. Job well done! In fact, i'd rather point out that it is odd and sad that we get so few blitz apps that use the engine to its full potential in terms of 3D art.

VIP3R(Posted 2005) [#13]
Thanks for putting up the zip :)

I agree with Sybixsus, this demo is jaw-droppingly good.

Nice job perseus!

Red Ocktober(Posted 2005) [#14]
wowzaaaa!!! yes... sir!!!
super impressive...

Perturbatio(Posted 2005) [#15]
just as a thought, for the 3d glasses thing, it would be good to be able to adjust the colours. The 3D glasses I have do not quite mask out the colours that you are using and it kind of spoils the effect.

Neuro(Posted 2005) [#16]
Thats one hell of a techdemo...

ImaginaryHuman(Posted 2005) [#17]
The reflections look pretty nice.

Damien Sturdy(Posted 2005) [#18]
Quite simply Awesome. What blitz effects/techniques are you using?

puki(Posted 2005) [#19]
Has anyone else been able to see the 3D mode? Coz it is worth seeing.

Booticus(Posted 2005) [#20]
Dang yo. Gotta say that was neato. I liked the fiddilability of all the settings (is that a word? no.) gave me many minutes of fiddling.

jfk EO-11110(Posted 2005) [#21]
Looks great. What's that shininess/reflecting thingy - a spheremap on a texturelayer? or is it a cubemap?

Grey Alien(Posted 2005) [#22]
It was really nice, camera 3 is my fave.

Picklesworth(Posted 2005) [#23]
This surprised me.
Great job!

boomboommax(Posted 2005) [#24]
reminds me of the walker from the amiga game of the same name:)

Ricky Smith(Posted 2005) [#25]
Shows what's possible with Blitz3d - nice !

Damien Sturdy(Posted 2005) [#26]
Oh,
BTW, runs stupidly fast on my machine..... i can see an FPS flickering in the corner but its only on for a tiny amount of each frame and i couldnt make it out.

Camera1 rotates 360 deg per second. Real dizzy.!

boomboommax(Posted 2005) [#27]
cubemapping, and some bloom things etc,

nawi(Posted 2005) [#28]
Its really good

perseus(Posted 2005) [#29]
once again, thanks for all comments..

@ Pertutbatio:

I've made 3d glasses feature for a red-blue one. it will probably not work with different color and polarized glasses. if you have red-blue 3d-glasses and still see colors bad, following method may help about it:

1. press F
2. press 2 on numeric keyboard
3. press and hold down 4,5,6 in numeric keyboard for a while (until everything gets dark)
4. press 7,8,9 on again numeric keyboard to adjust color

(this may be used to adjust contrast when all mirrors are enabled too..)

@ {cYanide}
yes, I like that game too.

@ Cygnus:

Many things are used in combination: cube mapping / spherical mapping / feedback effetcs / etc..

btw. you may use (-) key on numeric keyboard to slow down camera.

@ jfk EO-11110

I've done reflection by calculating cube map and assigning the result to top texture layer of objects. However, an additional small trick is needed: only shiny parts should be rendered while generating cubemap.

big10p(Posted 2005) [#30]
Screenies look very nice. Can't try the demo because I'm too impatient to dl it on my 56k dialup. ;)

The 'head' kind of reminds me of the cockpit of the ship from R-Type.

perseus(Posted 2005) [#31]
little version is

http://www.duruoz.net/blitz/WalkerL.rar
2mb.

low graphics and soundfx version.

Gabriel(Posted 2005) [#32]
No way. Best application of very good graphics , maybe. Depends what you term as 'demo'.

Well as far as I can see, it's a tech demo, not a demo of a game. Hence, I used the term demo in the scene.org or pouet.net sense.

Naughty Alien(Posted 2005) [#33]
is it possible to take a look on to source?

SillyPutty(Posted 2005) [#34]
this is an amazing demo, well done !

Grisu(Posted 2005) [#35]
Great Job.

Only thing I'm missing is to run it at a higher resolution. :)

mearrin69(Posted 2005) [#36]
Simply beautiful. Lemme know if you ever release the code ;)
M

mrtricks(Posted 2005) [#37]
Looks great, haven't yet dl'd it. Where can one get 3D glasses?

Berserker [swe](Posted 2005) [#38]
The "Walker Mirror" looks very realistic and nice, how is that done?

perseus(Posted 2005) [#39]
Thank you very much all.

I am sorry that my replies are coming late as I am quite busy and I am having translation support from a few friends since my english is not that good.

@mearrin69 & Naughty Alien:
I think it is not important to give the source code. In fact I made this example using the "code archive" and help. But to see how I developed the idea you can find the red blue 3d glass with an example in the code archive section
http://www.blitzbasic.com/codearcs/codearcs.php?code=1421

@mmrtricks :
you can find the 3d glasses from this addresses

@Berserker [swe] :
I made the reflection fo walker using cubemap method. I first prepare a cunic map of the scene and then assigning the tecture layer as cubic map on it. I arrange how I should assing using textureblending

Berserker [swe](Posted 2005) [#40]
Ah ok, im pretty new on all that but sure thanks. Would that be doable on moving units in a game or just "hardcoded" stuff?

Anyways its beutiful! Keep it up!

JAW(Posted 2005) [#41]
superb little tech demo, looks ace with the cubemapping--
the material reminds me of rock-tumbler stone.

SopiSoft(Posted 2005) [#42]
Wooow man, this is really awesome stuff!!! Great job!
