Hey everyone, I found a level editor I had been working on for a 2d turn based strategy game (think a mix between civ III and advanced wars) well anyway, i never finished it and it kinda got forgotten, so i thought i'd upload it here. I'd appreciate your thoughts :). If anyone wants the source i'll comment it up and give it to you guys. Well I hope you like!

I designed it for maximum flexibility, so you can make your own teams/units/tilemaps/buildings.. just take a look at the files for the basic ones and then edit them as much as you'd like and save in a new file in the right folder and it'll appear the next time you open your game

The screen is at:

It seems a tripod logo is showing on this forum instead - maybe because it is direct-linked?

SSS(Posted 2005) [#3]
oh oops sorry, it doesnt allow direct linking, just copy paste the address ok?

Tho you should give it a go especially the custimizability, dont just judge it based on the screens

looks good :) uh currently not working on a 2D game, but this editor definitively looks real good.

Strange...I get the tripod logo even when I put it in the browser.

This is because your browser does not hide the Referrer Information.

Like the image, what GUI are you using there?

Looks very clean and tidy, and very refreshing that is to see.

Thanks!
i'm using a slightly modified version of the free version of BCF such that it runs with 2D games. This had some wierd side effects but i'm happy with the way its been working.

i'd be interested in looking at the source to this.

is it in BlitzMax ?

i'm currently playing around a little with some hex based map stuff in BlitzMax.

send me an e-mail or something if you are going to offer it up ?

SSS(Posted 2005) [#11]
unfortunately it is blitz3D although i'm thinking of doing a conversion once a decent GUI lib is released. i can send you the source but i must warn you that its 2000 lines without one comment so it might be very hard to understand (there are parts that, looking back at it, i dont understand.) So i can send it to you and you decide.

you can use the media from the download
