released games list

Community Forums/Showcase/released games list

Najdorf(Posted 2005) [#1]
I believe we need a list of "released" games made with the blitz tools. Because the "gallery", while very cool, is made mostly by incomplete projects / not publicly available / screenshot only.

I would like a list of the "released" games made with every blitz (3D,plus,max) and a rating. It would help to show what blitz can do much more than screenshots.

Indiepath.T - where is a link to info about those released games?

Najdorf - your games are cool.

I released a graphics library called Mildred on the Amiga, written in BlitzBasic 2, to verson 1.52. It worked with CPU-processed bitmaps/sprites in `fast ram` (non DMA non graphics memory), in `chunky` pixels format, 256 colors, using a chunky-to-planar technique for AGA display, or direct GFX card output. I believe it was used in Paul Burkey's `Foundation` game in part, but was mainly going to be used in Dafel:Bloodline from Pagan Games. That game, originally written in BlitzBasic 2 still isn't finished afaik but they're working on it in C or something. Mildred isn't exactly a game but it's a released portion of potential games ;-)

Can released games include freeware ones? If so ...

Stuart Morgan(Posted 2005) [#6]
It would be good if there was a sort of area on the site where you could submit info/screens on finished games, much like the toolbox?

Oddball(Posted 2005) [#7]
>>The legendary lost newsletter<<

Not a complete list, but it's a start.

IPete2(Posted 2005) [#8]
Well it's a bit late/early for this one, but go on then...

SmartScreen launched it's first simple shareware game for PC, 'Snowball Scramble' - Christmas 2004.

The game can be personalised by sending an e-mail to the link below and paying a small fee.

That newsletter is pretty comprehensive but some links no longer work such as Dizzy.

I have just finished a game called Goofy Gokarts:

AngelDaniel, I used your Mildred library for blitzbasic2 on the amiga, back in 1999. I coded a game called Homeland, which was never finished. But great work on the Mildred library.

ImaginaryHuman(Posted 2005) [#11]
Jeppe, hey, that's great to hear. I think a number of people used it and found it more capable/fast than the standard Blitz graphics routines. I was going to make a game with it myself, and lots of the stuff I added to it was with that game idea in mind, but then I never got round to it. Now that I'm getting back into BlitzMax I'm revisiting it.

EOF(Posted 2005) [#14]
I think it would be great to have a [Gamebox] just like the [Toolbox] tab above.

ImaginaryHuman(Posted 2005) [#15]
I agree, some form of a showcase even if it doesn't include file uploads/downloads other than screenshots.

Steve Elliott(Posted 2005) [#16]
A 'Download Section' for game demo's would be a good idea.

Oddball(Posted 2005) [#29]

Someone did. Not sure if it was Skid though. It used to be on the product page, for Blitz2D I think, back when Guildhall/Idigicon was running the show. Think it would be a little out of date now. Don't recall anyone compiling a list recently though.

Found this thread whilst searching for something else. Not sure how much use it'll be as it's 2 years old and there are no links to the games mentioned.
