I've been tinkering with a cpu controlled camera for the 'attract mode'.

Quite pleased with the results so far. I'm thinking it may prove useful in game too with a bit more development.

This looks just gantastic. VERY pro work. This could be a boxed, commercial game. The amount of detail is amazing.

I don't like the water, it just looks too static, maybe add another moving alpha layer to it and make it shiny or something.

I think the Naked bit spins around too much, reminds me of afterburner or something like that, just looks a bit of a dated effect. Athought the way it comes in looks great with the knocking the cross hairs each time.

The WAR shadow should be drawn at the same time as the red bit. Mabye have it multiply blend too.

Generally looks nice though.

John Pickford(Posted 2005) [#4]
The water isn't even near finished. And of course the shadow will be fixed on the logo.

mearrin69(Posted 2005) [#5]
Heh, the quasi-B52's music is a bit jarring but that's a really professional start screen. I like the logo thing (spinning) - it's perfect for the look of the game.

Don't know how it plays but this is one of the better looking Blitz games I've ever seen.

Nice work!

agent4125(Posted 2005) [#8]
Nice. I dig the music!

Erroneouss(Posted 2005) [#9]
Coolies! I like it!

John Pickford(Posted 2005) [#10]
We do have the rights to the music so if enough people like it we'll keep it in.

Grisu(Posted 2005) [#11]
I like it to.. keep it in... :D

Btw: Will you do a public beta engine test???

John Pickford(Posted 2005) [#12]
I doubt there'll be a public beta but I will be recruiting some more testers very soon.

nawi(Posted 2005) [#13]
MEH wants to be tester :) Drop me a mail if you need me

Perturbatio(Posted 2005) [#14]
I'd be happy to beta test it :)
I have no life of my own.

Wiebo(Posted 2005) [#15]
Very nice presentation!

Erroneouss(Posted 2005) [#16]
Did you do the music? I love it!
Me loves the B-52's!

John Pickford(Posted 2005) [#17]
The music is by a friend. I only put it in as a placeholder but a lot of people seem to like it.

Steve C ™(Posted 2005) [#18]
Looks great. Very polished.
I think the music is awful though, but I like hip hop so what do I know right?! ;)

John Pickford(Posted 2005) [#19]
Heh!. Yes well with music you do run the risk of putting off as many people as you please. Look at Burnout 3 for a good example.

Perturbatio(Posted 2005) [#20]
The music isn't something I would go out of my way to buy, but it is by no means awful.

I think something a little heavier might work well.

taumel(Posted 2005) [#21]
Hi,

Music is great but something like the track of Cannon Fodder would of course also work fine here.

Greetings,

taumel

War has never been so much fun...
War has never been so much fun...

Go up to your brother,
Kill him with your gun,
Leave him lying in his uniform,
Dieing in the sun...

... what was the other one? Slightly less memorable...

Something something uniform and
Shiny shiny boots,
Something something trouble
Something something something roots...

Killer.
Killer.
Killllerrrrrr,
Killer.

I don't know =]

John Pickford(Posted 2005) [#23]
Amazingly, we don't have the rights to Cannon Fodder music.

Oh, there's a call for testers (& level designers) in the General Discussion folder.
