Blitz3d Tools Demo

Community Forums/Showcase/Blitz3d Tools Demo

SabataRH(Posted 2005) [#1]
Greeitngs, I promised this little demo some time ago and just got around to releasing it.. It's by no means complete or optimized but it does utilize a number of blitz3d tools and resources.. I thought it'd be interesting to throw all these fines works together into a single demo.

This demo uses:

Blitztree3d - for trees
TreemagikG2 - for distance trees
Plantlife - grass and foliage modeling
ALE - for conjunction terrains with LOD engine
Cshop4 - light building modeling
Giles - structual lightmapping
Bryce - skybox rendering
Particle Candy - General particle effects
BlitzTOOLui - Editor gui routines
PaintShopPro - tacky texture editing
Psonic - player model
Tranz3d - modeling

There's alot of things that could be done to better this demo but for times-sake im releasing it as is because i no longer plan to work on it..

Hold down the mouse LMB and RMB for mouselook and movement - swivel mouse for lookaround.

WOW
-- people check that demo

very nice graphics and a good blitz3d example.

BlitzSupport(Posted 2005) [#3]
Nice!

Beaker(Posted 2005) [#4]
I like it! Really shows everything off well.

{cYan|de}(Posted 2005) [#5]
nice but somethings making it dog slow here as soon as i move, standing still its fine.

Booticus(Posted 2005) [#6]
Man thats some damned fine work!! As far as not working on it any more, I hope youre moving on to something that builds on this bitchin' demo? Lot of good stuff in here!

Jeremy Alessi(Posted 2005) [#7]
Yeah that's really nice. It's almost like Fable ... just needs a few bloom filters lol.

Dock(Posted 2005) [#8]
Excellent work, I love the completeness of the engine, especially the rustling grass and foliage. Very cool. :)

fredborg(Posted 2005) [#9]
Very nice.

Somehow it feels like it should be more cartoony, ie. Wind Waker style. I think it's the way the plants wiggle when you walk through them, that makes me think that.

Top job! Now, on to making the game :D

SabataRH(Posted 2005) [#10]
Thanks for the comments ...

Im totally awed just looking at the static screen!

morduun(Posted 2005) [#13]
Solid work there, very sexy :) Sort of an odd cross between Fable and World of Warcraft -- lots of nice touches, and runs plenty fast on my laptop. Great job man

big10p(Posted 2005) [#14]
If I had broadband, I'd give it a look-see. :(

Ruz(Posted 2005) [#15]
looks good on the whole. character needsd a bit of work , but overall there are soem very nice bits in the demo.
love the moving tree branches in particular

Uber Lieutenant(Posted 2005) [#16]
THIS is what Mark made Blitz3D for! Very sophisticated environment and loads of ambience to boot. If there was gameplay included, I'd give you manlove. :D

Pedro(Posted 2005) [#17]
very nice , but if we can have a look on the source code it will be helpfull for the blitz community.

TroM(Posted 2005) [#18]
how do you make texture blending on the ground, and going up the cliff? Do you have to overlap faces and you a mask?

jfk EO-11110(Posted 2005) [#19]
TroM I guess it's VertexAlpha in action, as seen in FLE (toolbox) and ALE.

Barliesque(Posted 2005) [#20]
Wow, beautiful work. All those great libraries really do add up to something.

Just one thing missing: A really nice lens flare. ...Oh! Here's one:

Braincell(Posted 2005) [#29]
Why would he mind? Host it, i missed it too.

wizzlefish(Posted 2005) [#30]
I'll host it...if someone would email it to me.

Ross C(Posted 2005) [#31]
I'm certain i had this somewhere...

JoshK(Posted 2005) [#32]
I want it.

N(Posted 2005) [#33]
I can e-mail it to you if you want it, Osiris. It's 12mb though, so you'll need a 'good' e-mail service that allows stuff bigger than 1-2mb.

JoshK(Posted 2005) [#34]
can you post somewhere?

Oddball(Posted 2005) [#35]
There you go!

Download ademo1.zip

Can't promise it'll be there for long. But maybe someone else can mirror it if they download it.

JoshK(Posted 2005) [#36]
Thank you very much I love it.

maximo(Posted 2005) [#37]

Thats generous of you.

Anyway, beautiful demo. :-)

TroM(Posted 2005) [#40]
its weird, I cant run it anymore, same with some other blitz stuff, I'm getting 'Memory access violation', the only thing I did lately is installing new Nvidia drivers and DirectX 9.0c
