Well, it's a game with sticks in it and you fight, there's some cheese and it's free. http://enaysoft.co.uk/SSSS2.zip |
| ||
Is this the same one that was made for the StickMan contest on B/coder a few years back? Can't download as at work ... just curious if it's been updated any? |
| ||
Wow, very nice 'Illegal memory address'!!! |
| ||
I too, am sure i have ssss2.zip on my drive somewhere from a few years back :p |
| ||
Yeah, well it's the sequel. Although it's just an update really, many fixes, game isn't as hard, ai don't swamp you, but mostly featuring 4 times as many moves as before. Same old shit really, more polishing on the turd ;) Just trying to figure out why some people can't run the game. It's my favourite error of all time, the random sporadic error that only some people get and one you can't ever reproduce yourself. Fredborg try this:- http://enaysoft.co.uk/paxostuffing.zip and let me know how high the number gets. 41 is the number to beat. |
| ||
Is it a "Line not found" error? :P and wooooOOOOOOOOOO O O!O!O!O!O!O!.... t. I loved it, and so i will download it upon my return to my homely cottage that lies at the bottom of Trogdor's mountain thingy. I have absolutely no idea why i said all that. Boredom? Maybe. |

Got to '21.txt' :D |
| ||
Hmm. Very interesting. Well, now I've tracked down the faulty code. WTF do I change? Heheh. :) |
| ||
Think I know what it is now. |
| ||
Try downloading it again. http://enaysoft.co.uk/SSSS2.zip Paxo stuffing has left the building. |
| ||
Try downloading it again. Still doesn't work. |
| ||
I think it's the compression. I'll fix it soon. |
| ||
Works here. I use "Power archiver" ( I tried the first download ). |
| ||
I tapped punch repeatedly, ran left and right a bit and was victorious. Glad to see the inclusion of some cheese on the title page - may I ask what variety? |
| ||
I am slowly working on a fix for all the people who can't run it. But I'm busy with other stuff too now. > may I ask what variety? It's in the name. Extra Mature Cheddar. |

Probably that would work for some people: As I dowloaded both versions i got this Illigal Memory Address, too. So I tried to set the Compatibily Mode for this Program to Win95 and it works. Have a try. Maybe you have to compile it again under WinXP. BTW very funny but a bit easy to beat. |

Bloody XP. > Maybe you have to compile it again under WinXP. Well I don't have XP, but it may be worth a try. > BTW very funny but a bit easy to beat. Yeah, well unfortunately everyone complained the first game was too difficult. I might tweak it later but of course easy is better than too hard I guess. |

Great fun :D:D:D:D:D |
| ||
I was looking forward to this but unfortunately I get the same bug on running the .exe. |
| ||
Did you try navigating to the folder the .exe is in and running it from there? I've heard of people having problems with that. |
| ||
Yeah I went into the folder I extracted the .exe and readme into and ran the exe from there. Get black screen for a second or so then back to windows with Illegal memory address. How else can I run it, from the command line? |
| ||
Try a rightclick and change the properties in the Compatibilty folder to Win95. |
