Cool!! I really like the little cars with the aerials - they look like tails, very cute!

Oh crap,... holds head in hands over current status of his own mini RC game.

Looking great.

heh, nice vehicle physics :) looking very nice indeed

Cute :)

Physics seem spot-on. Good work :)

Hi,

Glad you like it :)

I've updated it a bit with a loop and a few tweaks.

@rtur: I very much doubt your game is anything like what I have in mind. If you want to show off what you are doing start your own thread. Please remove the images.

fredborg i like ur game. I would like to see it evolve, maybe incorporate, bullets, that could be fun or different kinds of weapons... ............many ideas............ possible!!!!

Pongo(Posted 2004) [#11]
I like the new loop, but this latest version is not stable on my laptop, the old one ran fine, and the new one drops to maybe 1 fps after about 30 seconds of play.

Seems to run fine on the desktop though.

Specs:
laptop 2Mhz Pentium 4 Geforce 4 mobile 256 meg ram. (shouldn't be the system causing slowdown)

Hi Fredborg,
Can you texture the ground as well? A simple checker will do. Just to give me a better sense of how the car is moving around.
The wobbly aerial is funny :)

RifRaf(Posted 2004) [#13]
very nice.

fredborg(Posted 2004) [#14]
Hi,

The ground is now textured, to help the sight impaired ;)

fredborg(Posted 2004) [#15]
You can now edit the car settings, by modifying the 'TinyRacer.ini' file. You might make it go haywire, but have a play if you like!

Oh, and try to get a hole in one :D

fredborg(Posted 2004) [#16]
Hi,

Updated to allow fully customisable cars. Edit any car parameter, make different cars, and try them out!

.rIKmAN.(Posted 2004) [#17]
Fredborg: What physics engine does this use - Toka, ODE or your own?

Any tips? :D

:o)

Perturbatio(Posted 2004) [#19]
It's kinda fun :)

Beaker(Posted 2004) [#20]
I managed to break my car, got the verlets inside out, wasn't pretty.

fredborg(Posted 2004) [#21]
Yep, that happens sometimes... I'm doing some stuff to fix it, and I'm also doing a better suspension setup, so the car won't roll over quite so often.

skn3(Posted 2004) [#22]
Its quite funky, but the control is a bit sloppy. I have driven one of those mini rc's, and they handle better.

fredborg(Posted 2004) [#23]
Updated with better physics (?) and better suspension setup.

Also a brand new monster truck has been added.

You can add your own cars by making new car files and tweaking the parameters. Use the 'TinyRacer.ini' file to edit which cars race (Car00 is the one you control)...

Oh, and the multiplayer button is just to confuse you :D

Edit:
You can now play 4 against each other at once! (And the car setup has been tweaked!)

Quite impressive Fredborg - I like it. What's the plan - a micro machines style clone - maybe something resembling Stunt Car racer?? I ( like everyone) would be really interested in the source for the verlet stuff as it works quite well but I guess that's a trade secret ;)

Very nice. Cars handling is a little sensitive for me.
