ok... i decided to see if i could apply the dot3 stuff to an animated b3d... it's not perfect yet, but here is a sort (800K) video comparing the example animation from the CharacterShop demo... first without dot3 bumpmapping applied, then with it. vid taken down Nov 17 the video quality isn't great, but you should be able to see the difference... broadband users click here --> http://home.att.net/~mikey102/BlitzAnimDot3_1.wmv dialup users right click and save target as for offline viewing. --Mike |

You can't see if it's right or not... because the dot3 map is so messy... it looks like random crap placed on the model. |

Maybe you should zoom up a little more, no matter if some parts are cut off. |

actually, i just found out, by using a satatic b3d, that it is only doing a normal mapping... not the dot3 lighting effects when the light moves as in the .x models... still playin with it... anyway, here's a closeup still of the anim... here's a lightmapped b3d wall... for comparison, here's the same wall with normalmapping applied --Mike |

Hey guys; does anyone has a function which clears the mathematical side of the dot3 lighting: thanks; cheers |

my stuff is based on DudesDot3 BumpMapping demo... it's in the archives... the function EntityLight() lays it all out for you --Mike |
