I have almost finished the first version of my World Editor/Engine, I am developing it to build the worlds for my game Island Storm. But if there is any interest I am thinking of selling it. It allows you to create complete worlds indoor and outdoor. Here is a demo of the compiler that allows you to try some test worlds, it's a beta and still has many bugs. http://www.apaj15.dsl.pipex.com/WorldStorm_Beta.zip (22Mb) Select Single Surface Objects from the menu to enable physics collsions on all the objects. Controls: "Cursor Keys", Control player and vehicles. "Space", Enter/Exit vehicle. "1 and 2", Change camera when driving. "Right Mouse", Fire rocket. Brief List Of Current Features: GUI: -Uses BlitzUI, but all you have to do is put your textures/meshes in the relevant folders and when you start the editor they will show up in the list boxes with auto created icons. Terrain: -Import mesh terrain or heightmap. -Realtime deform the terrain. -Realtime alpha paint onto terrain. -Basic CSG functions. Water: -Setup a water plane, with animated texture. -Mirrored or Cube Mapped reflections. Sky: -Skybox, with multiple moving cloud layers. Lighting/Fog: -Ambient,Directional & Shadow lighting. -Fog and Object AutoFade. -DirectX lights with AutoFade, AutoDelete and Flares. -Lens Flares for sun or moon. Vegetation: -Vegetation Maps for trees, grass, etc... Objects: -Easily place your object meshes, with AutoAlign. -Alter every aspect of an object, colour, FX, etc... -Integrated ODE Physics. Vehicles: -Setup and place ODE vehicles. Weather: -Wind FX, Rain, Snow. Save: -Save World and objects as individual entities. -Collapse all to single surface meshes. -Collapse all into single surface chunks, specified via a grid size. Load: -Load world with LoadWorld("") command, flags allow you to specify which object groups you want to be single surface. Planned Features: -Gile[s] exporter, that will export your world and setup lights in Gile[s] that match your DX Lights. |

hey this is pretty damn kool, when u roll the car on the water though and its flipped over if u get out you fall through the terrain |
| ||
Thanks, yeh there are a few bugs but it gives an idea of what can be created using the editor. |
| ||
the enviroment was created in the editor or the entire game? |
| ||
Impressive stuff, I'll keep an eye on this! Cheers, Ryan |
| ||
Glad that you're still developing IS! IS is definately one of the top B3D FPS projects IMO. |
| ||
Thanks, ckob everything is created in the editor apart from the camera and gun, you build the vehicles and environments in the editor and just use a LoadWorld("") command. |
| ||
Same as rsbrowndog! |
| ||
I read the current features, but they are not in the demo. |
| ||
Digital Fortress, the demo is not of the editor, the demo is the compiler that lets you test a world that was created in the editor. Next I will release a demo of the actual editor. |
| ||
Nice work there! |
| ||
ok, thanks. |
| ||
Sounds great. "integrated ODE" made me real jalous :) |
| ||
Oh boy i'm interested! I'll buy it from yah *as so long as the price isn't tooo high* Testing demo now! i can't wait! |
| ||
Wow that was cool! blowing up the jeep *literally out of the world* :-) Keep it up man! I'm sure those physics were a pain in the ass to get too! Great / Excellent / Incredible job there! |
| ||
So.... When will the editor be done? I WANT IT! |
| ||
I just got back from Christmas visits, I will release a demo of the editor next week, it now has "Candy Store" support built in. |
| ||
Yay! And I saw what you did with the jeep model from Psionic - how did you get the wheels to turn? Does that come with the model, or did you animate it your self? And wonderful physics by the way. :) |
| ||
Ready yet? |
| ||
Nearly there... |
| ||
Yay. |
| ||
I want to start work on a game :( Lol, this looks better and better every time I see it! |
| ||
Looks really cool ;) |
| ||
While the physics are currently very choppy, this is looking fantastic so far. Keep it up, Copper. It's rare that anyone ever begins a complicated project and sticks with it. Very rare. |
| ||
I've done it! :P |

I would seriously consider buying your editor / game engine - how much and what kind of support. What would it cost to collaborate and ask for new features as needed? I am serious - as I have clients I could use this for if it is professional enough. Contact me at mfelker@... |

Also, if you need professional music scores for this engine, I would be happy to create for you - maybe work out a barter deal - whatever - I am pretty open for anything. |
