I didn't like it.

1. There aren't any power-ups??
2. The colour scheme is awful.
3. The mouse control is far too sensitive.
4. You have no apparent control over where the ball goes.

I couldn't even be bothered to play it for the duration of level 1. I simply lost interest after about 60 seconds of not much happening. I played for a few minutes more to give it a chance, but still nothing happened. Sorry.

Like Dave I got bored with it very quickly. Apologies for repeat comments however:

The colours are dreadful
There don't seem to be power ups
The bat is a rectangle with no detail on what-so-ever
You can't control the ball (if the ball hits the right hand edge it should put more x+ force on the ball)
I found the moving play area pointless and distracting.
The text and screen fades were way too slow.
I have no idea why it was a 12 mb download.

I seriously recomend downloading a specturm emulator and Batty. This (I think) has been the best brick-bat game to date.

On the upside, it's got some nice fx in there and the different sized blocks makes it more interesting.

I thought of an idea with this sort of game to actually include gravity so you can knock out blocks to make others fall down... just a thought.

I do enjoy these simplistic games so if you fix the comments above you might have a winner, I think Filax was working on one too.

[edit]Found it... Here and here[/edit]

Couldn't agreed more Rob. 2 player batty was awesome on the Speccy.

Come on guys it wern't that bad... colors were ok, yes no powerups, there should be and the board moving made me feel ill.. but it played ok if not a bit slow.

Wehey Batty! That was my second favourite C64 game.

I made a Batty clone in Blitz years ago to mimic that Batty sensation of two player coop play.

I really am surprised though that noone jumped on the bang wagon and made 2 player of everything else like Batty. 2 player Pacman/Space Invaders/Missile Command etc.

Oo, that IS a good idea. I'd never seen Batty.

I did think Ricochet was pretty good though.

There was an awesome Arkanoid clone where the bricks scrolled down the screen at you and they came in different patterns,
there were also enemy bosses
I think it was for ST or Amiga

ok I think ppl have been a bit harsh. Its nice and smoth here.

I agree though, add powerups and a few other little bits and I think you will have a really nice game on your hands.

Good job.

Big bosses on an arkanoid game would be cool.

Trixx(Posted 2004) [#12]
There IS plenty of Power-ups... just start it with run1.bat ( instead of run.exe )
Very nice, smooth engine... but control scheme needs some work.

I liked that Webstopaggo game the best. That's the reason I bought B3D.
