I took a break from my main project (Battle Pit 2) for the last week or so to see if I could create a good 3D version of an old 2D game I made called Titan:The infiltrator. Its a top down shooter in which you have to clear the room of all the alien baddies before you can go onto the next room. It's only a test room and has only the lowest type of baddie and one weapon type(so it may seem easy).

The controls are -
"." pivot and turn while shooting
"/" Strafe
"shift" Shoot

Hey nice... I played "threat" a lot back in the 486 years.

On my PC (which is quite ancient) I cannot play the 3d version. All I see is a lot of funny looking green blobs moving around very quickly, and when I use the cursor keys the little man warps from place to place around the screen.

The 2d version says it needs a dll which is missing "CNCS32.DLL".

Nice... MAV when you press fire while being respawned.

Targetting a little frustrating: I'd quite like to see mouse control - ie move with keys, target with mouse. (Bit like Cannon Fodder)

looks very nice.

Thanks for the feedback.

Matty - I forgot to include the dll with the .zip, i'll post when I get home from work.

mrtricks- the reason I didn't use the mouse to aim is I'm going to have two player mode so I wanted to keep the controls simple.

Should I get rid of the crosshairs all together?

Thats not bad m8, I am of course going to have to steal some of your ideas ;)

Hope you dont mind.

Maybe you could introduce some slight auto-aiming - it's very annoying having to strafe 1mm to hit something... perhaps anything within a certain angle of your firing direction. Could be a difficulty option too; wider or narrower killing angles (or none).

Had "memory access violation" a few times. Its hard to aim, but the idea is fun.
