SOL-elite style single player game..
[very early dev demo]

Ok..this is not the demo i promised, thats more than a month
away..this is simply a revamped version of the old simple
demo..nice music/sfx/&visuals...

I like the music, visuals are ok, but the camera movement is harsh. Gave me a headache just jumping around.

Ill be interested in seeing the full demo in a month. I love Elite.

I think it looks ok. one thing though the skybox is visibly close to the camera, watching it you feel or I felt as if, if the ship moved forward justa little i would have been able to bump into it.

Dont know what you could do to fix this as im not sure just how close it really is.

Anyway the rest of it looks really good.

I like the look of it, I like the energy flashes (although it would be good if they were only in certain areas to make it look like a plasma storm cloud thingy). The music was ok, but a bit repetitive and didn't loop properly (easy enough to sort though).

The camera jumping was a tad annoying, needs to be smoothed out somewhat, overall, a 8.0 on the impressometer.

hi :]

- GFX: all the main gfx will be changed for the official
release. I have already created some backgrounds +
some models..

- CAM: yeh, sorry about the jerky camera tracking..i only
put this in for testing..should have smoothed it out
or excluded it...

- MUSIC: there are more tracks + i hope to have music
triggered by events etc..so it should be less
tediouse in the future..i also wanted to keep
both the upload & download small...im still using
56k.....

Steve can you link me to that track you talked
about in your e-mail?

-SKYBOX: yeh..im not too sure about this...i know what you
mean about it looking too close, i will have look
into resolving this + have a look at the nebula
storm code, see if i cant localise the effect ;)

+ thanks to everyone thats downloaded the demo + commented
on it :] + btw the closeness issue has now been resolved,
it was simply a texture detail problem...weird, but hey..

Ive also done more tests for with collision code + it seems
this wont be problem..as usual the main killer will be
single surface systems..there are potentially many dynamic
particle fx..so im going to have to pay close attention to
the performance hits :/ :p
